Title: Oil Sprayer Problem
Post by: Bonsai on January 22, 2012, 01:34:57 am
Hi Everyone

I purchased a 'pump' type oil sprayer after a few forum members mentioned how useful they are. After a month or so mine stopped producing a spray/mist and now just has a thin jet of oil. I've tried cleaning it in hot soapy water but still no mist. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I have this (http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Brands/Prepara/Prepara-Tabletop-Oil-Mister) one Bonsai, no problems here.

Yes we had the same problem, I will have to ask DH what he did to fix it.

I have the same one as you JD  ;)

I have the same one that Judy and Faffa has.  I flush it through with hot soapy water now and then by sucking up the soapy water and spraying it through the nozzle and then rinsing in the same way. Have had no problems at all in over 2 years of continued use.  :)

I have the same brand as well - not sure what else to do if hot soapy water didn't work. Not keen to prod the outlet with a pin as it might make things worse!

Mine is different to this brand (it is one I have to 'pump up') however I did have trouble with it the first time after we washed it. I found that the problem was the seal around the inside rim wasn't sitting properly and therefore the vaccum (?) seal was not present. I think I was tightening it too hard and pushing the rubber piece out of place. When I made sure that the seal was sitting in the gap properly I screwed the lid on again but not too tightly and I haven't had any trouble with it since.
