Title: Error 53
Post by: Ames on April 14, 2009, 11:39:31 am
Has anyone had an Error 53.  What does it mean? I've followed all the instructions to clear the error in the manual, but it still exists.

Any help would be appreciated!

is that the one it does when you go to lock the lid into place? (if so my dh gets it all the time, me rarely lol) we usually solve it by undoing the lid and taking the whole bowl out then replacing and trying again. sometimes takes a couple of goes though.

and you can also try turning to lid lock/lid unlock position
have a look in your manual it has troubleshooting on all the error codes in there

I have had load of ER 53 messages and I phoned the helpline in Lisbon and they said its to do with accumulated humidity in the engine and this error prevents the machine working and breaking down due to dampness. I am at the moment awaiting for my machine to be collected by courier so that they can check why I keep getting this message. I my opinion the plastic and rubber rings that are in the lid and by the engine need replacing.

I've tried all the above suggestions, and done everything in the manual.... but still doesn't work.... left over night and this morning tried again.... flashed error 34 and now has error 52....  :( I think Its going to have to go for service....

HOpe warranty covers it.... can't afford to replace it, or repairs at the moment!!!! and don't know what I'll do with out it!  :-[ :'(

Error 34 could be a power board problem, one of my friends has had 3 clients have that happen to them - how bad luck is that!
So long as machine is not out of warranty it should be covered

Best of luck!
My machine was collected yesterday so I am having to do without it for the first time in 2 years - I feel a little lost!

Accumulated dampness in the machine could result from moisture on the bench being sucked up into the Thermomix motor from underneath, especially at high speed.  When we take the Thermomix to customers, we always say to keep it clean and to keep an eye underneath the Thermomix.  This doesn't just mean looking for little bits of food that might put the scales out of balance.  Keeping it all clean and dry under there is vital.  You really don't want error 53 very often as moisture inside could result in rust.
