Title: Make Your Own Cookbook
Post by: chicksta44 on January 12, 2012, 10:59:11 am
Not sure if this interests anyone but I came across this today. Looks like a great idea for those who want to put all their family recipes all together or all of their favorites all together. Would be a great idea for the older generation to pass on all the family secrets and give to their kids/grandkids. Wish I learnt a lot of my granny's recipes before she got dementia. Too late now. :(

Sounds Great Lisa.

I currently write up my recipes and photos anyway. This looks like a great way to jazzy it up. Will definitely look into it further.

Thanks for sharing!

Does look good. Need to convince my MIL to have a go. mmm On second thoughts maybe easier if she gave me her recipes and I did it. ;)

This is afabulous idea.  I have three kids moving into adulthood.  When and IF they leave home what a great present cookbook and thermi consultant phone number.   Only joking maybe just cookbook.   Ha ha Lisa

I'd love to try that with all my TMX favourites that I have in a file ATM.

I have been putting together a cookbook for my mum with all of her favourite recipes, for her birthday this year.  It's really easy to use and put together.  Can't wait to see the finished product.

These look great but as I keep finding more recipes on here I like, I would be forever making new ones LOL

I'm wondering what the minimum quantity is. Sounds very, very cheap!

My sisters and I have been talking about making a Family Recipe Book for years. This may just be the thing!

It may look cheap but it's not really.

I just did a test run. I made a little book with 6 full colour images and it costs $36 to print hardcover. Softcover will cost $22.

I'm not sure if it's cheaper if you choose to print more than one but it is cheaper for b & w.

I'll check it out further some other time.

Thanks for that. I've downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to install and play.
We'd probably do about 20 books, so it would be cheaper, but they'd be bigger, so maybe not!

A few years ago my auntie got all the family to contribute their favorite recipes which she typed up and printed out and put together in a folder and we all now have one each (about 20 of us)
This was such a great idea and I use the folder all the time. I have converted some of the recipes to the TM. My DD (8) asked me when I die could she have my recipe folder lol. I think it would be a much better idea to make up a book and give to her when she leaves home cause I don't intend on dieing any time soon.

A nice idea but can you imagine the cost if we put all our favorite recipes from here in it as well, thinking about it it's not really a good idea for me I never fully follow a recipe anyway so it is always different.   :D

Brenda, I rarely follow recipes either unless they're my own!

I like the look of tastebook.com. It is US based but looks like a great system.
