Title: Review Tandoori Chicken Dinner Spinner
Post by: cookie1 on January 09, 2012, 04:24:55 am
I know there are other reviews but I thought I would put one here as it is easier to find. I hope no one minds.
We enjoyed this but did find it very hot. I may have put too much chilli in. I have been known to do this type of thing before. It has a lovely flavour quite different from the Tandoori Chicken recipe in one of the calendars. I found it a good excuse to make some more Naan bread. We had rice and pappadums with it.
Definitely on the to do again list.

We had this tonight and I reduced the chilli. Thanks for that tip Cookie.  I coated the chicken last night and let it sit overnight and the chicken was very tender and tasty  Everyone loved it. I served it with the Bombay potatoes from the Indian cook book (again with reduced chilli ) and the two went really well together. Added some steamed broccoli, pappadams and raita and everyone was happy. Will definitely be making again.

Having this again tonight. Added less chilli this time, it smells divine. I am finding with Teninas recipes the flavours are fabulous but for us all to enjoy I need to reduce the spices.

Looking forward to these on the bbq as kebabs.

7 of us, 4 adults, 3 kids. All that adults absolutely loved it. They wished I made more. Gave the kids chicken satays.

We had them for lunch, we went on an adventure this morning, came home starving after all our climbing and boating fun.

Have been asked to do them again.

This is Twitterpated's review from another thread

Made the tandoori chicken last night. Recipe is easy to follow and makes heaps of the marinade. Cooked on the weber and tasted great. This recipes gives a really authentic indian taste and was enjoyed by all. Will definiitey be making again (probably not on the weber as it makes a big mess of the grill).

My review from another posting - Had the Tandoori Chicken today, nothing wrong with the recipe but tandoori is not my favourite marinade.

Mace a double batch of the sauce today. Used 1/2 the chiilis, added some extra greek yoghurt. Taste great. In the freezer & will bring out to marinade & then back in the freezer.

I love having lots of marinades, sauces ready to go.

Used some of this marinade over the long weekend. Not sure whether it heats up over time, I found it a little hot but DH said it was fine. Still have heaps in the freezer, will add a bit more yoghurt next time.

MaDe these last night and BBQ'd. Lose a bit of the flavour to 'chargrilled flavour' on the BBQ. So if you're planning to do that, I think the original amount of chili is needed.
