Title: Another Newbie
Post by: Henndigo on January 08, 2012, 08:58:42 am
Hi all,

I'm from Sydney and plan on ordering a thermie this month.  I'm a mother to two children and work 3 days a week.  I love to cook and am anxious to keep our food healthy in the face of a more busy lifestyle this year.  I love the concept of being able to cook from scratch but fast.  I also want to entertain friends for dinner as well.

Looking forward to learning more from you.

Will there be a basic cookbook in the thermie package?

Hi Henndigo, your fingers will be itching to get your thermomix after reading the posts on this forum, I find I'm always wanting to try something new, have just finished making some Bacon Jam (third batch) love it, everyone who tastes it goes home with a container, pity they don't return the containers, I'm running out.

I think that is one of Helene's recipes isn't it?  Here's  (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2011/11687/bacon-jam-recipe-thermomix.html) the link.

Hi Henndigo, welcome to the forum.  Here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2946.0) is the index for the Everyday Cookbook that comes with the TMX.  This is an index from the early edition so yours may not quite be the same.

Before you try recipes from the EDC as it is popularly known as on this forum, it pays to check out this list  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=8487.0) to see if members have suggested improvements or given their tweaks to the recipes.

In the meantime, have a browse of our recipes here, read the reviews and print out those that appeal to you so that you will have a pile of recipes to start with once the machine arrives.

Yes JD thanks, I have made both versions and I like the first one better, today I didn't have any apple juice so I put in a can of pie apples that I had in the cupboard  with about 80g water and just used plain white vinegar.  Also added some chilli.   very nice.
