Absolutely not.
So far this weekend, the wife and I have made the following.
Friday:
Spelt and Sunflower Seed Buns
Chicken and Mushroom Risotto.
Saturday:
Bacon and Eggs on toasted buns made the night before with Hollandaise Sauce
Sunday:
Fresh Pasta
A fantastic vegetarian pasta sauce
Ham, Cheese and Salad Rolls (from Friday Night)
Rye, Spelt, Walnut and Sunflower seed buns.
Every meal with the exception of lunch yesterday (sushi while we were out and about) and breakfast this morning (cereal) has been made from scratch in the Thermy.
Unbelievably good food and a great deal of fun. Not a time saver tho.

Hi Chris,
Sounds like your having fun with the TM.
I am not sure why you dont think it saves you time, risotto alone is quick & easy inTM, no stiriing and cooks in a faster time.
Are you new to your TM, at first things take longer, you have to look up speed, , temp time etc, but once you get used to it, it is way quicker.
Glad to hear your enjoying the food.

I think I know what you mean Chris - it is a timesaver BUT we love using the TMX so much that we are forever looking to make something else. Why, just because we can ;D I don't know anyone (apart from people on here) who spend as much time in the kitchen as I do and my time is minimal compared to the time others with families spend. We choose to do it or we can choose not to do it - it's our call.

Each meal is quicker with the Thermy, I just make more of them so spend more time in the kitchen.

Yes Chris, its like that. I made caramelised onions this mrning for what?? Just because I coukd, off to the freezer rhey go. lOL

I know what you mean disgruntleddog. Start to feel a bit jittery if I haven't used the TMX all day so have to think up excuses to get in the kitchen and start cooking. Liking the caramelised onion idea....

;D big stroms in syd at the moment and you guys are swimming :-))
-
Thermomix does save time but you have so many recipes to cook - it means more time in the kitchen
Fun time of course.

Chris just think about how long it would have taken you to make all of that food without the Thermomix. More to the point you would probably not have made most of it and eaten pre-made food full of salt sugar and preservatives.

I know what you mean. For the third week in a row, I have bought a box of strawberries from my local farmers market. Over 2 kg of berries for $8. How could I resist? I've made smoothies, icecream and fabulous daiquiri's. Last week I made apple and strawberry jam, which I ate with pancakes that I made with my daughter this morning. Today I turned 1 kg of fruit into 5 jars of jam, all without stirring and lots of dishes. I've still got another kilo of strawberries in my fridge. What will I make tomorrow? Mmmmm

I know exactly what you mean Chris. I have never spent so much time in the kitchen. Now I do and I love every minute of it. I loved it before but I had so much washing up to do and I didn't produce very much in a day.

I think that's what it comes down to. We'd have dinner parties where we would go through the whole effort of making a curry from scratch but it's a lot of hard work. Hermy (the Thermy) makes the grunt work out of cooking.
Pizza tonight. Dough made in Hermy and the left over pasta sauce with ham, marinaded zuccini, onion and mozzarella. Mmmm.

Yup. Know exactly what you mean.
But isn't it fun :D :D :D :D
