Page 74.
Photo looks exactly like finished dish.
Recipe very short and easy to follow.
Initially I thought that this recipe was a waste of space, after all anyone can throw some spinach leaves into the TMX bowl and cook them, the add butter/cream/nutmeg and the zap it. However it was nice to have the amount/ times and exact amounts of butter and ricotta already worked out. I used home grown spinach and it needed another 2 mins. cooking time, but I think with bought spinach the recipe would be just right. The other thing i did was wash the spinach and then spun it in the salad spinner. I think that the recipe probably doesn't require this and that the leaves should be put into the bowl with a little water clinging to then. There was no water to be drained off, as suggested in step2.
The end result was perfect as was the specified number of serves.
I will be making it again and freezing it.

No, Hally. This is not going to fix your dislike for Spinach. This recipe is for those who love spinach. ;D
-
LMAO Hally ... have spinach going mad in the garden at the moment, think this will make it to the menu plan this week :)

I have just made 1/3 of the recipe, hunting around for veg for dinner tonight. Had 100g of spinach left, plus ricotta. Its yum, I had to stop eating it as there will be no veggies soon for dinner.
Verdict, delicious.

H, pleased that you like this dish. I have made it with silver beet and it is also nice.
-
Now chookie dont get carried away, remeber silverbeet has those ugly strangling looking veins, that will jump out and attack me or make me pass out.
Interesting if I wasnt on this food challenge I woud never have done this :)

Another great recipe... if only my daughter would agree! :)

Am thinking of making this very soon but not sure what kind of meal it would go with. Any suggestions?

Any meat dish, plain grilled, roast meat with gravy, mashed potato or roast potatoes and this creamed spinach would be lovely Tasty with some red/orange vegies thrown in for colour.

I was a little impatient and decided to make it tonight. It only makes a small bowlful and I can't say I was too impressed with it on its own but it was nice with ricotta on top.
I only had a 250g bag of baby spinach and I used the ricotta I made earlier today using Super Kitchen Machine's blog recipe.

What did you serve it with Tasty?
-
I didn't. I wasn't really hungry to have dinner but thought I'd make this. I had some of it and the rest is in the fridge. Snacking made me full tonight.
-
If you have any left over Tasty, you could use it as a filling for an omelette. I just treat it as an extra vegie on my plate.

Have just picked and blanched a bunch of Warrigal greens.( New Zealand spinach). Think might give this recipe a go with this.
