I recently made the Hot Cross Buns recipe from the Thermomix book. I made a slight change and replaced the currants with extra sultanas. These were the most successful Hot Cross Buns I've ever made. One small complaint - the cross mixture for the top was a little runny and next time I would reduce the amount of water.
You can see them here.

Thanks Barbara - I think we forgot about this "Festive Season" section.
The buns look great. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Good to see the Thermomix Thursday posts - keep it up.

Is your posted recipe the changed one re the cross mixture?

Might be best to contact Barbara via the winosandfoodies site - she hasn't been here since that post.

Thanks Thermomixer!

Hi Cathy
I made the recipe that is in the Thermomixer book. I just replaces the currants with sultanas.
-
Sorry Cathy I misunderstood. The top cross mixture is as written book. I'd reduce the amount of water when making them.

Thanks, I didn't realise that the recipe you used was from the EDC book. I'll have to give them a try sometime. Any time is "fruit bun" time.

Welcome back Barbara :-*

Made these yesterday without the crosses. They were delicious, very light & fluffy, and very easy. Just keep a very close eye on them at the end of baking, there is a fine line between cooked and slightly overcooked. And burnt sultanas are not nice. I'm sure I only cooked them for the recommended time, but they were a little overdone.
