Post by: natmum on December 13, 2011, 04:40:30 am
:o Well here in Perth the kids finish school tomorrow...so have just got back from the last shopping trip!!
Spent an absolute fortune on food as we will have a house full by the weekend! But I do think it was alot less than previous years..thanks to making more from scratch!! So exciting!!
Okay off to clean up the mess I made cooking last night! oh I hate that job.
PS hope everyone is getting organised and is very excited too!!

Wow natmum, Your kids have broken up already. In NSW we don't break up until the end of this week.
I'm grateful for the extra week to get organised.

It does seem a bit earlier this year, usually it is the week before Christmas. I remember when we were teaching in Broome and broke up around the 18th or 19th it was a rush to get back to Perth and get the shopping etc done.
Most of the teachers here break up on Thursday or Friday.

We have a really big Christmas Eve party...use to do all the cooking but now with working and kids extra I get everyone to bring a plate! They usually ring me and ask what to bring ..about 30 of us, kids go to bed late so Christmas day is very quiet and we eat left overs but then in the evening I cook a turkey roast...prawn cocktails to start! This year for Christmas Eve we will do a bbq..so will make a few salads and dips!! Trying not to go to crazy ..hate the food wastage! What do you do Fundj. I don't have any family except my own children and partner so it is great to have our friends and their loved ones over! (brother and sister are in other parts of Australia and parents up above)

Hi, I'm in perth too... And My children broke up this week ..... I made the mistake of doing my christmas store cupboard shopping a week too early and most of the "goodies" have gone already.... But I suppose that's what happens when you have 4 "children" and work as well... THIS time I explained that anything not in the christmas cupboard that I brought today wont be replaced!!!!!

Have my fingers crossed that my thermie arrives in time to take some of the load off me on The Day!!!!
