Title: Making Lattes in TM
Post by: Halex on December 08, 2011, 10:38:12 pm
We are of to our timeshare next week. It will be nice to get out of the christmas shopping!!

Taking my trusted TM with me, never made coffee, would love the recipe/method for a perfect latte, save us a fortune making our own.

We have a self catering 2 bdr apartment, no oven but microwave, hobb & bbq & my TM

Thanks

H :)

Hally, I wouldn't know what the perfect latte is like as I rarely buy coffee when out.  Have you tried the cappuccino/latte recipe from the EDC to see if that suits what you are looking for?

Hally we have a coffee machine here, but when I'm out and about at friends who usually have instant coffee,  I put the coffee plus sugar plus about a third to half a cup of milk and then microwave for a min or so (depending on microwave) and then top up with hot water.  The milk needs to kind of get that skim to taste the best. It tastes very different to when you add the water then milk.  Give it a go, I know not Thermomix, but nice and quck when you're on holidays and easy to do even for one !

Thanks debbie i will try that as well.

Might try froghing the milk in the tm & addinfg it to instant coffee. Lots of ways to try, but I love my coffee machine.

Does anyone If i buy beans & grind them in the tm would this give a smooth coffee?

Thanks

No you wouldhave to strain or french press the water and coffee grounds but this would work www.aeropress.com.au in conjunction with the Tm really well.

To heat milk we just weigh in milk heat to 80 if you want hot 70 if you want to drink quickly. Then when it reaches temp spd 8 for about 15-20secs. This will froth well. We use or coffee machine to make the shot.

Thanks Meagan

I made the latte with instant coffe and the edc method. It was passable, not the same as my coffee machine, (my machine layers it) but good enough thar i didnt have to send dh out to buy lattes which I normally would. So about an $8 a day saving thanks to tm :), plus a dh that doesnt roll his eyes for our coffee.LOL
