Title: Comeback Sauce
Post by: meganjane on December 07, 2011, 11:39:14 am
This recipe comes from the blog site Syrup and Biscuits (http://syrupandbiscuits.com/comeback-sauce/)

It's a blend of two different sauces, Thousand Island & Remoulade and had it's origins in a restaurant in Mississippi in the 1930's.

It's absolutely delicious and suitably named! I call it Special Sauce. I've used it on Smoked Salmon on toast, Salmon Patties, Seafood, Avocado and Chicken Sandwiches and many other things. It does need Heinz Ketchup if you can bear buying it!

Come Back Sauce

1 cup TMX Mayonnaise
1/4  cup Heinz ketchup
1/4 cup chilli sauce  (not Sweet Chilli)
1 heaping teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 cup light olive oil
juice of one lemon

Blend everything together on speed 2 in the TMX. Bottle and refrigerate. This quantity made 1 large jar.

This looks as though it could be used in a lot of ways. Especially at this time of the year.

Thanks for moving it!!

It's so delicious, even though made with a lot of prepacked stuff. Just remembered, I also added some dried chilli flakes, about a teaspoon.
