Title: something to take to a concert?
Post by: auds on November 24, 2011, 12:38:51 pm
we are off to Cold Chisel on Saturday night and need to get there early so will probably miss dinner.

We are allowed to take food into the venue and some friends are taking nibbles, cheeses etc.  I said I would bring something else.

We cant take in an esky and I want something easy to carry in and wont need to be kept cold.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance :)

I like the sound of mini quiches and fudge wahoo.

Apparantly there is some talk about whether it is appropriate for them to still sing Flame Trees  :o

bring little tartlet shells and fill them with lemon curd (made in your tm, of course) just before you eat them.

We saw Cold Chisel in Rockhampton last month. It was great but the prices were very expensive. $8 for a can of mid strength beer and $12 for a can of rum and coke. Hope you have a great time auds. BTW we didn't manage to get very close but the sound was way better at the back than up closer.

wow the boss drinks rum and coke so he wont be having too many of those LOL.  He is driving so he will only have one or 2.

I remember a few years ago seeing Barnsey at the Doodli and how disappointed I was. There were hardly any drink outlets, certainly not enough for the crowd.  When it was my turn to buy a round I lined up for about 25 mins to be told when I got to the front that I had to go over there to THAT counter to buy tokens - they didnt take cash!!!   There was about another 20 mins lining up.

Finally when I got drinks - I couldnt find my friends and I had missed half of the concert  grrrrrr

recommed a couple of "sneaky drinks"  ;) to save money and time lining up definitely. chicken drumsticks, maybe some small brioche buns with smoked salmon or ham filling
