My name is Meagan and I am a little bit excited.. we ordered our Thermomix on the weekend :)
I first saw the TM in March (had a demo when hubby was away, just to see it - had no intention of buying one ever). Saw it, loved it, wanted it. Him not convinced. Put it on the backburner for a while. In the meantime life has gotten busier, meals are rushed and not as healthy as they could be, he is doing a lot more cooking as I am often home late.
Fast forward to November and a (handy) 12 mths interest free option in Aus..
I arranged another demo so he could see it.. And watched his body language move from bored/disinterested to mildy curious, to really intrigued (he got a torch to watch through the measure).. Then as he served up a second helping of risotto he asked, "How much is it a week?" and then "Yeah? Do it!" ;D
Today I received a call to say that the paperwork has been processed. So our TM will be arriving soon!! I think it may be a few weeks yet as the finance co has to pay TM before they send it, but I'm still v excited!!

Well done Mr and Mrs H - well done to the consultant who made the delicious risotto too. You are going to love your Thermomix. Look forward to seeing you post more to this forum as your Thermomi journey goes on. Enjoy!

Lovely story Mrs H. Welcome to the forum and here's hoping you get your TMX as quickly as is possible so that you can get straight into it. Sounds like DH is going to be using it more than you are so you might have to send him off on the odd little errand to have a go yourself ;)

Hi MrsH - you won't regret the purchase - a thermomix really grows on you - so easy to make quick healthy meals and before you know it you're making all sorts of things that you wouldn't have dreamt of doing before. This week I knocked up a batch of chapatti in 45 minutes for wraps for dinner, coconut milk in about 15 mins from scratch, pastry, bread by the bucketload, yogurt. I'm a really busy full-time working mum and it makes life so much easier.
Hope you and Mr H enjoy!

Hi and welcome Meagan - such a great intro to thermie tale, you will never regret your decision as well you have discovered the next best thing to TMX - this wonderful forum!!! :)

Welcome MrsH. I am so glad that MrH has seen the light ;D
The first thing I made was the vegetable stock as it is used in most meals (especially rissotto).
This forum has been my saviour. Without it I didn't have the courage to attempt making alot of what I can make now. It has given me the love, support and courage I needed.
Happy cooking

Welcome to the forum. I so enjoyed the story about MrH getting interested in the Thermomix. My husband loves the Thermomix as well, he has started cooking as well. He watches cooking shows with me and all.....
Let us know what your first meal was and how it turned out!

Hi Mrs H, I went to three demos before I bought, I loved it from the start but couldn't justify the purchase when I had so many kitchen tools, but watching the kids buy everything they wanted, decided my needs were important too. The vegie stock was the first thing I made, but have since made the Veggie Stock from the Full Steam ahead book and it is a bit nicer.
Enjoy...

Thanks all, Aussie Brenda, I see the TM as a great opportunity to improve our h=eating - fresher, healthier, no additives.. My TM has arrived but due to busy, busy times it won't be delivered until Weds evening.. I shall be patient.. and perhaps hit up the wholegrain store for wheat etc on Weds :P
