These started out 1cm high before cooking.

Denise,  I could post some,  but might be a bit stale by the time you got them. ;D ;D ;D Dan Lepard has a recipe for English Muffins in his new book "Short and Sweet",  it looks good. No sour Dough in his recipe,  he uses yoghurt and Cider inegar to get a similar effect.

I might ask Father Christmas to get me Dan Lepard's book for Christmas. ;) ;) It sounds like a super book to have.

They look great - I'd love to have a go at them, but know I never will, so I'll just have to continue enjoying them vicariously through your pictures.  I can now say "I (sort of) know someone who makes the most magnificent English muffins you have ever tasted."

Thanks Chookie, they certainly are supersized muffins.  Are you going to do the non-sour dough recipe so that we can all try it for ourselves - no pressure but .......  ;D :-*

OK,  you have twisted my arm,( right up my back),  so I wil have a go at Dan Lepards.  Today I am making his Spelt and Ginger Cookies and will post if alright.

She is indeed DizzyGirl and is always willing to help people out by trialling recipes and giving bread making advice to us all. Apart from her many recipes on the forum, have you seen her blog?  (http://achookwoman.blogspot.com/)

I love Dan Leppard - I did buy Short & Sweet but will be giving it away as a Christmas present as it has too many sweet things in to tempt me... I try not to make cakes and biscuits in order to keep my waistline under control...  ;D ;D

Katya,  I have just about given up on my waistline. I will not be giving my copy of Short and Sweet away.  Today made the Spelt and Ginger Cookies.  Made 50,(double recipe),  and gave most of them away. If you could have seen the pleasure it gave the recipients and me,  you would try some of his recipes before you give it away.  I have also made the Tapanade Rolls,  which I will also post as I am sure many Forum members will like them.  More pleasure and satisfaction.

Wow - great book recommendation - Short and Sweet -  Just bought it at amazon for my iPad after being inspired here, and have  read the first section on bread making. So practical and great ideas.
