Title: Berry Brekky Smoothie
Post by: randomness on November 15, 2011, 12:38:38 am
I wanted a good filling Berry Breakfast smoothie so I mashed a couple of recipes together and created a yummy Berry Brekky smoothie!

Ingredients:
250g milk
250g frozen mixed berries
250g natural yoghurt
honey to taste

Optional:
2 TBS coconut oil (gives a nice subtle coconut flavour and is also really good for you! Don't add other oil if you don't have coconut)

Method:
Put all ingredients in TM blend speed 8-9/30 sec
Check all ingredients are blended properly, blend again if necessary

Makes 2

Thanks, randomness.  Where do you get hold of coconut oil?

Cecilia, there has been a bit of discussion here  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2428.0)on coconut oil.  I get it from our local health food shop.

Thanks randomness. About how much honey do you use as I guess the berries and yoghurt would be rather sour?

I'm in Australia and I found my organic virgin coconut oil at the healthfood shop.. They don't sell it at woolies etc..

About the honey.. I just guess, about a teaspoon.. but it depends how sweet you like it..  I quite like the sour natural yoghurt taste..

I made your recipe without the coconut oil (or any oil) and found it to be delicious.  Thanks again, randomness.
