Title: Cookies suitable for freezing
Post by: Halex on November 11, 2011, 11:53:27 pm
DS having his birthday party in a park. We are having a sausage sizzle but would like to make cookies and anything in advance that I can freeze and take to the park.

Ideas please
Thanks

Hally I've found that most cookies freeze quite well.

Hally, have you seen this  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2134.0) recipe for refrigerator biscuits from MJ?

Here (http://retromummy.blogspot.com/2011/07/pws-oatmeal-crispies-for-thermomix.html) is another dough that can be frozen.

I'm sure any biscuit dough could be, Chelsea has made the comment on the forum that the Fudgy Wudgy (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4160.0) Cookie dough freezes well too.

Hi Hally

I use a recipe from the Womens Weekly cookies book called slice & bake cookies. It is a basic mixture that has 4 different variations. I do mine with mini M&Ms in it roll the dough into logs then freeze, when I need them they only take a few minutes to thaw out enough to slice then bake.

We have friends with egg allergies & this recipe has none so its great, I have also changed the butter to Nuttalex for another friends son had a dairy allergy.

Can email you the recipe if you like.

Understand the strain of heaps of birthdays all at once in our family I start them on Feb19 and my youngest ends them on April 9
with all the other in between, that's 6 birthdays in 7 weeks. So my 7 weeks of birthdays are 19/02, 21/02, 06/03, 31/03, 08/04 & 09/04!! CRAZY  :D :D

Do you want to freeze the cookies after they are baked or freeze the dough in logs to slice and bake at a later date??
