Hi guys,
Yes it is here, my little self published project has arrived in the country and will be available at cooking classes in Mandurah, Perth and NSW from tomorrow. It is a little book with 21 delicious dinners using your thermomix. It is hardy enough to bang around in your handbag so you can take it to the store to get ingredients. Dinner Spinner can be purchased online at http://tenina.com/store (http://tenina.com/store) from the morning of November 23rd.
Feedback so far is excellent, so I hope you will all jump at getting one. It has photos for every recipe and will prove to be well used I hope! At $15 it is a great hostess gift for Christmas, a great gift for someone who has a thermomix in your life and of course, fantastic to have yourself…(otherwise you wouldnt be on here right??)
Looking forward to hearing how you all feel about it…this is not the BIG one, FYI, this is a just a teaser to keep you keen! hahaha, For Foods Sake is out mid December and is full colour, pic for every recipe, 80+ recipes, gorgeous, gorgeous, (did I say gorgeous?) book that you will just LOVE…
…and this is just the beginning! ;D ;D
-
Being one of the lucky few that earned a copy of the Dinner Spinner its fantastic, love the recipes and have tried the Feta Tart, and it was delicious, even DH enjoyed it and he doesn't like feta :D This is on the list to make again. Going to make the Pesto Chicken Pin-wheels for a picnic at the weekend. It also has Umani paste recipe at the front, which reminds me I need to make some more.
-
They both sound wonderful. I hope you're doing a big run Tenina as I can see your book flying out the door. Are we able to pre-order?
-
Thanks Tanina, I want one. Like cookie Can I preorder.?
-
I would like to pre-order too
Hally :)
-
Thanks Tanina, I want one. Like cookie Can I preorder.?
I think you will be fine…we have 1000 copies coming (flew in a few for classes) and there will be another print run organised pretty soon, depending on how everyone reacts. We will have the new print run before Christmas.
Glad you are thinking they will be successful, heaven knows I need that. Been working for free for the last 3-4 months, so now it is time to see some results!
xx

WHAT, you are getting paid for doing something you love Tenina :o :o :o ;) ;) ;) :-* :-* :-*

There is no denying it, I LOVE what I do…but damn it, I have bills to pay! :(
If I could justify doing it for free, dont worry, I would! hahahaha
:D

Is it going to be available in the UK?
-
We are hoping so…(available in the UK that is) otherwise we can work something out with international postage….On sale online Nov 23rd at http://tenina.com/store (http://tenina.com/store)
Class last night in Mandurah in WA with 20 guests, and we sold 53 books, so figure that one out! They will go quickly I think! (YAY!)

Many thanks Tenina for thinking about your overseas fans and are willing to post to us overseas :-*
-
Tenina, what a great night and the food was to die for, couldn't stop yumming as I ate. Looking forward to the chocolate class.
You may need a microphone next time !
Love the book looking forward to trying it out.
-
Ooh I can't wait for the 22nd. :D
-
It is fantastic! You will of course enjoy it :D :D

IT IS ALL exciting…NSW loved the classes and the Dinner Spinner, on sale online tonight, so I hope you are all poised and ready and that our site crashes as a result! (kidding…no site crashing please!)
We have our first perth class tonight and all sold out, plus some, as we have a few guests coming.
Next Tuesday night is also sold out…so watch this space.
Dinner Spinners, will be sold out in a moment too! hahaha
Thanks for the forum love.
Love you back! :D
-
Tenina, just so I know how much moolah to bring, what will you be selling on sidelines apart from Dinner Spinner?
-
Bedlam could probably tell you more or Kathryn who I think went to Mandurah. I believe we will be able to buy Crio Bru stuff and Bedlam mentioned Bodum cups (I think) with a tea thing in them??? Also those yummy coated almonds (?) that jeninwa had at the get together.
-
Nooooooo
Sorry, we do not ship to this location
Trying to ship the spinner to Germany.

Trying to ship the spinner to Germany.
We are just looking at that again Robert…we can only use Aussie Post on our cart, and we are able to send it via the cart we think…however, I will get back to you today with a price on one book's shipping cost and we'll work it out!
Sorry…and please stay tuned
xx
-
Is there a contents page available for this book??
-
Thanks Tenina, I will keep my eyes peeled.
Could turn out to be an expensive week as my favorite Film Score label is releasing it's last 4 discs of the year on Friday.
-
Tenina, the Chicken Salad with Vietnamese Dressing is on the menu for dinner tomorrow night!
-
Let us all know how it goes kezza.
-
definately keen to hear what you have in mind for international members, especially for the big project book... :)
-
Ordered mine last night - looking forward to seeing it :) :)
-
Ordered mine too, looking forward to it.
-
Is there a contents page available for this book??
Has this question been asked and answered somewhere else??? ???
-
Tenina, the Chicken Salad with Vietnamese Dressing is on the menu for dinner tomorrow night!
Ooh, that is one of my faves…did you like it??
-
Is there a contents page available for this book??
Not yet, unless someone is happy to put it in…no time at the present! (hahaha) The orders just keep coming and coming! We are LOVING it…thanks to the forum for your support once again.
ALso for international orders, they are available on the site and it should calculate the postage correctly. If it is outrageously expensive, please make a note of just how much and email me and we will look into whether it is accurate or not.
You also must register to make an order otherwise there is a glitch that keeps happening….
so Robert and Frozzie…looking out for those European bound Dinner Spinner orders
xx ;D
-
Thanks Tenina, currently in the process of ordering. Postage seems okay though really I have no idea. (As noted elsewhere the "In The Mix" book I won cost $61 to post, so sample set of two so far shows roughly the cost of the book to post)
From German to Aus, for the weight of the spinner (and assuming a box with the dimensions 45cm x 30cm x 15cm and with the weight from your site .15KG), the book postage rate is €3,45/€3,00 ($4.74 AUS - ) otherwise a small packet via DHL (DHL & Deutsche Post are together) is €15,90 ($21.85 AUS).
If the total package weights above 500g then Book rate goes up to €7,00 priority or €5,50 Economy (AUS $9.62/7.56).
So $12.50 to Germany seems to be about par
-
Tenina will definately be happening but wondering whether to wait until the big book comes available to order them both at the same time rather than paying two lots of postage...?? is the big book like the in the mix one?? ie a whopper or more like the thermomix books european ones or aussie ones?? If you can give me an idea of the weight of the big book which I know isnt available just yet but im sure you have a copy and also the weight of the two books together if you have a sec as I can see on the aus post website whether its worthwhile waiting or if it doesnt make much of a difference..get me haha!
also do you have or can you give me a ballpark figure of what the big book will cost?
merci :P
-
Will there be a vegetarian version in the pipeworks Tenina? :-*
-
Frozzie the big book will be around 700g I think (as an educated guess) So yes, good idea to wait for both to be mailed together. At this stage price is at $50, but may come down slightly. Will know soon. It is looking pretty flash and I am VERY excited.
Ceejay, there are several vegetarian meals in the Dinner Spinner…more than in any other category. But having said that, it is a small book.
I think the next offering will be something other than dinners.
;) ;)
-
thanks Tenina and so you should be VERY excited...im looking forward to getting both books so make sure you keep a copy of both books because as soon as i hear the new one is available you will be sending off a parcel to France!!
Is it worth being on your database for international customers as obviously local classes and info isnt of interest...bit far away to make it :P just to be able to be kept up to date with your new 'projects' as soon as they become available or just better to rely on other forum members to keep us up to date...???
thanks Tenina :)
-
I think if you are on here and on FB, you will certainly be up to date with all the excitement. There is so much on the way, it is VERY exciting….
;D
-
ok no problem...is the book still planned to be out/launched on the 15th dec? or earlier? (im not the most patient person haha)

Better still if you asked Tenina nicely she might write in it for you.
-
Ohh i got mine, I swear it was the next day delivery, very exciting. I am hanging to make the shredded chicken salad.
-
Mine arrived today, there are lots of recipes that I'm going to make, it's right up my alley! :D
-
I received a copy today also so mine is coming to bed with me tonight - quick look impressed me though.
-
I just put in my order too. I really liked the sound of the recipes featured - yum! :)
-
Im waiting on the new one which had better be out soooon so i can get both books!!!
-
Mine arrived today - looks great thanks Tenina - can't wait to see the next production!!!!
-
Got mine today, Tenina, you are a marvel.
Process in ordering via internet (for a dill) easy with good follow up.
Presentation, classy, printed on good card which can be wiped clean. Will fit in handbag. Photo on page with recipe. Recipes straight forward. Stud at bottom easy to use when selecting recipe.
Recipes, simple. Ingredients all in pantry. Number of serves listed. Kind of food a family would like. TMX use highlighted in text.
I don't make many main meals in the TMX, but out of the 21 recipes there are more than 1/2 that i will make.
Thanks Tenina.
-
You write a great critique Chookie :) :) and very true :) :)
-
Thanks Robyn, thought it might help those who are undecided. If I thought it was a waste of $20, which it cost to get to my letter box, then I would say so.
-
Have to agree with you Chookie, lots of good stuff in there. Can't wait to make the Fisherman's Pie and the Mushroom and Feta Strudel. Novel idea with the stud and recipe cards but I prefer cook books so I am going to take mine apart so that I can just work with 1 card at a time.
-
Great review Chookie. I can't wait for my spinner to arrive.
JD I was wondering about the fishermans pie tonight. Does it have a creamy base? I hope so. :)
-
Yes I spent a bit of time with it last night too. I type up recipes that I'm going to make and I found I didn't leave many out, only about 4 I think so i've got a few to keep me busy over the coming weeks. :)
-
This is great! Just solved another Xmas pressie problem - needed something for my friend who's about to take delivery of a TMX and has an addiction to cookbooks (which I gather are hard to get thru Thermomix). Plus she can test the recipes for me - result! Have placed my order...
-
Chelsea, it has cheese, potatoes, baby spinach, butter, milk, onion, carrot, mascarpone, peas, and canned tuna along with spices - does that sound creamy enough for you :D
-
Was hoping to get mine today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!!!

No, Thank You Chookie…gotta love this for a review…
;D
We think its so cute…and lots of yummy recipes.
So nice to hear some other opinions on the matter!
Thanks again
mwah!

Ohhhhh. That sounds fantastic. Thanks JD. I hope mine arrives today.
-
Yay! Got mine today. ;D
But I'm already thinking I'll have to use it for an Anniversary pressie for a BBQ I'm going to on Saturday :-)) - will have to get another for me - looks excellent. 8)
-
Got mine yesterday. Thank you once again Tenina for helping me with my order. :-*
So many nice recipes, its hard to decide what to cook first. I usually don't buy TMX recipe books because I find I don't make half the recipes in it. But this little gem, OMG I wanto to make them all now ;D
You are a very talented lady Tenina and I look forward to hearing about any new recipe books you produce.
WELL DONE :)
-
I wish mine would arrive! Are you swimming it across the Bass Strait for me Tenina? ;D ;D ;D
-
Great picture Julie, the soup and scones look great. I finally got my book Saturday - so much for Australia Post's Express delivery!!!! Even the delivery guy couldn't tell me why it took so long to get here. Can't wait to start cooking!!!!!
-
oh droooolllllllllllllllll! yum yum yum...hurry up second book so i can order both !!!
-
.........and from across the seas there was heard a faint cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
-
:D
-
So Chelsea, did it arrive yet?? I have to say we are literally getting them out the day of or the next day after the order. So any tardiness in delivery is Aussie Post…something to do with Christmas I trust…sorry about that. ???
-
Nah. It's all Australia Posts fault. As you all know they are not my most favourite people.
-
It arrived today Tenina!!! I love it already. I just can't decide what to make first. Oh what a dilemma!
P.S - Sorry Frozzie I tried to tone down my excitement but seemed to fail miserably.
-
haha chelsea no need to tone it down..scream from the rooftops...ill survive but seriously TENINA book number 2 will be out soon right?? lol ;D Im not a good waiter :P
-
Mine arrived yesterday... that is, the one I bought for my friend arrived... but I think it's mine now ;). Will have to order another one for her, couldn't resist opening the packaging and having a good read, and now I have to make something from it soon!
-
haha chelsea no need to tone it down..scream from the rooftops...ill survive but seriously TENINA book number 2 will be out soon right?? lol ;D Im not a good waiter :P
Yes really scream from the roof tops, but only when we have more in stock! SOLD OUT completely, down to my personal copy that I had opened and used to someone who just needed it! hahaha, so great….but now Singapore is taking their sweet time in delivering new stock. Patience is not my strong suit, you may have noticed that.
Glad to hear so much good feedback.
Thanks guys! (And Frozzie, For Food’s Sake is estimated mid Jan now. Australia literally shuts down over Christmas…so no book binding being done at all! :()
-
Oh golly, mid January. Thank goodness I'm getting a Dan Lepard book to read for Christmas to keep me going. ;) ;)
-
oh no..oh no...oh no!!!!! Ok its ok lol I will just have to forget about it, put it out of my mind until january then ! :(( (however glad that its all going so well Tenina..its a good thing your sold out and I have heard nothing but great reviews on the dinner spinner and hope For foods sake is just as successful - which im sure it will be :)) )
-
Hi JD, when I try to click through the link about the review, it goes to forbidden URL…is that just for me?? (hahahaha) Or is it a broken link?
xx
-

xx
same for me ;D ;D
-
Not showing favouritism Tenina, all fixed now - even I couldn't access it with the link I put there ;D Sorry about that.
-
I thought you were trying to shield me…hahaha, from a bad review….so far no bad ones, but everyone may be just being nice. (which is fine by me!)
:D
-
We are a pretty honest lot on here Tenina, if we don't like it we would say so in as nice a way as possible ;D
You have chosen well, it is a great little book with meals to suit everyone - that's what sells books, catering to the majority.
-
No shiielding on here Tenina plain honest reviews - take a look at this (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5840.0) honesty. In contrast, Dinner Spinners has the thumbs up by both thermie and non-thermie owners who have visited this household, your success is so very much deserved!!!! - roll on mid Jan!!!! -
I for one wouldn't write that I like something if I didn't. I do however note any tweaks that I do or something I would do differently next time, we all seem to do so on here with any recipe we make anyway, I think it's a good thing. ;D
I had completely loss faith with any TM recipe book. They are all hit and miss and I found myself going back to normal methods of cooking. Your little book has given me interest again in using the TM to cook meals and I'm chuffed with the results. Plus I like picking up little tips like chopping onions with the oil included makes for a better cut to the onion; I'd stopped chopping my onions in the TM. :P
So I look forward to your new book, I'll be one of the first to buy it. I wish you every success, you deserve it. :D
-
Well written Julie (http://www.messengerfreak.com/emoticons/christmas/789888-01.gif)
-
Dinner Spinner has restored a lot of peoples faith in TMX books. I have all the books and hardly ever use them, except the EDC for guidelines. I feel guilty about it but too bad. I use recipes from here or simply convert my own as I go.
If Tenina's new book is as good as Dinner Spinners it will be a sell out in no time at all.
-
i agree with everything everyone has said above about dinner spinner, but one thing i'm really glad about is that we don't have to get eveything from HO. it's about time the monopoly was broken.
so thank you, tenina, for breaking free and giving us something that we have been asking for. HO should also thank you - i'm sure you will be generating heaps of sales for them as well.
-
no julie im first in line for the new book lol :P :P
plus you guys are making it really hard for me to wait to order dinner spinners...
cookie i too have almost every book in both languages and honestly dont use them nearly as much as I should..there are even some I havent even cooked one recipe from..ahhhhh!! such is life...i do like to have them there as a reference though...plus I utterly and totally admit my pure addiction to all things cookbook!!
-

You stole my line Kim - so very true!!!!! (http://www.mymerrychristmas.com/forum/images/smilies/112.gif)
-
I am having a dinner spinner weekend. Tonight we had the chicken pinwheels which were lovely (and so easy). Tomorrow the speck pizza will be for lunch and the fisherman's pie for dinner. I am loving the recipes from the spinner.
I must admit that although I did think the spinner-idea was very nifty, the novelty is wearing off a little. I am tempted to scan the recipes and print the two sides together on the page. I like to have the method and ingredients on the same page otherwise you are continually flipping it over. It is only a little gripe though as the recipes are proving fabulous! ;) ;D
-
Exactly as I felt Chelsea, it does get annoying having to flip all the time and losing your place in the process ;) Not only that but there is no room to make notes and changes.
-
If only there were enough room for the method and ingredients on one side (and room for notes) and a beautiful big photo on the other side. I guess then it would be A4 size and way too big and clunky. ;D
-
When I use mine I totally separate the card I'm using and put it upwards and then put all the other cards downwards. If you understand me. I've also found that a fine artline writes on it, but you must leave it to dry.
-
I've just downloaded Dinner Spinners Apps onto my iPad and it looks great. It's much easier getting it this way than worrying about postage and it doesn't take up any space on the bookshelf ;D :D
With the App, you just get the recipe you want so you don't have to worry about flipping anything (sounds like I'm swearing but I'm not :D). Only problem is that you can't write on it :(
-
When I use mine I totally separate the card I'm using and put it upwards and then put all the other cards downwards.
I do the same but I still have to turn it over to see each ingredient quantity. I might scan it later today and make it into a booklet.
-

This is good feedback girls…thanks for all of it! :D
-
I've just downloaded Dinner Spinners Apps onto my iPad and it looks great.
Were there extra recipes in the app? Just deciding on whether to get the book or the app.
-
Yes i counted 5 extra recipes comparing to the contents list posted on the forum but Tenina says 4??
-
Cool thanks for that. Currently convincing DH that I NEED an IPhone so this could be the deal breaker. He's sick of all the recipe books that I collect so this shall be my pitch.
-
Haha goodluck :)
-
Thanks, think I'll need it.
-
You needed to have had a play last weekend - think I mentioned that was my Christmas pressie from DH - I love it!!!! (http://www.mymerrychristmas.com/forum/images/smilies/109.gif)
-
Lové my iPhone....wouldnt be without it and i have an iPad coming for chrissy.....happy dance!
-
Frozzie, are you able to give us a list of the extra recipes please. ;D
-
yes here they are....
Cheesey Scones
Spinach and Rice Pie
Spicy Noodles with chorizo
Smoked Salmon Fettucine
Pesto and Tuna Pasta Salad
Thats based on the contents list posted and whats on the app
:)
-
Wow, that was quick! Thanks Frozzie. :D
-
I think Tenina was probably right with 4 recipes Frozzie. I'm guessing the cheesy scones are the same ones as in the spinner. They are baked on top of the chowder but have their own recipe page in the spinner. :)
-
Thanks Kim for putting those up…crazy around here this weekend, been an MC at a Carols by candlelight event with over 1000 people. Had 30 for dinner tonight (Christmas plus going away thing for my daughter who is off to Brisbane to live) Also two events yesterday I had to cook for and all good, but my power kept tripping off…what a weekend.
AND the app came out, so too much for me!
:D
So thanks for responding! ;D
-
no problem Tenina and wow yes a big weekend then :D
and Julie was quick thanks to my iphone lol...replied while on my way to the shops..DH was driving so I had 10 mins to check out what was happening on the forum ..and I had already compared which recipes were the extras on evernote last night when I downloaded hte app...chelsea yes probably right just I dont have a copy of the book and could only go on the contents list posted and cheesey scones wasnt on it :-))
-
....wow Tenina your weekend is tiring me after reading your timetable. With your DD in Brisbane does that mean those of us living in the
right best part of Oz may be able to access the Tenina phenomenon - hope so!!!!!(http://www.animated-gifs.eu/emoticons-christmas/0017.gif)
-
haha got to love that interstate rivalry ;D
-

I'm with you Johnro.
BTW I did mention that's what you were getting from your DH. My DH said "and you are getting the pizza oven you wanted". I said but that's so I can cook you all the foods you like and the phone is so you can talk to all the people you like - me! Think he's coming around. Haha.
-
haha got to love that interstate rivalry ;D
It's great isn't it?

How do you do those little pics? So cute…I am noticing you have put them everywhere! And as for my daughter….who knows, maybe I’ll come visit and do a class whilst there! hahaha
-
Tenina, maybe you have another daughter you would like to send to Victoria. We would really look after her, and you could come and visit.??????
-
Nice try Chookie ;D
-
Chookie now let's set the record straight - Qld has first chomp at the Tenina cherry when she ventures to this side of Oz (http://www.messengerfreak.com/emoticons/christmas/reindeer65432-01.gif)
-
Tenina, maybe you have another daughter you would like to send to Victoria. We would really look after her, and you could come and visit.??????
Praise the good Lord in his wisdom, he only sent me one daughter….
-
Tenina I have noticed your dinner spinner book is for sale on ebay also ?? Is that you or your 'team' selling them??
-
Tenina I have noticed your dinner spinner book is for sale on ebay also ?? Is that you or your 'team' selling them??
Hahaha, yes, my ‘team’ is in overdrive. We have thousands of them on their way and I am officially nervous. I need to sell them, clearly! We can sell on Ebay, but only 8 per month without starting an official store, so I guess that is next on the list! (So much to do, so little time!)
It would be most helpful if all consultants got on board and sold them to their customers, and/or teams.
Hopefully, we are heading down that path sooner rather than later…but who knows! If it wasnt for the forum and facebook, I would be the proud owner of a great little recipe book (well 1000 of them actually!!)
xx

oh oh me too, he certainly knew my limits as well lol - she is only 4 and does my head in after 4 boys :o :o
-
hahaha well thank goodness they are selling like hotcakes ..think the novelty would wear off pretty quickly if you had thousands of htem just sitting there :-[...and you shouldnt be nervous...I have heard nothing but rave reviews of your book and your recipes are great so I am sure htey will continue to sell themselves ;D ;D Very much looking forward to the For Food Sake book too ;D

I am still wishing Tenina would come and visit us here in Tassie! :'( :'( :'(
-
I have very little hope of Tenina coming to my neck of the woods ..im sure she will get to you all in oz one day ;D
-
I have very little hope of Tenina coming to my neck of the woods ..im sure she will get to you all in oz one day ;D
But I want to come up there most of all! hahaha

I just ordered a copy, via your web site,Tenina. Great site, with Pay Pal it was very easy. I was in the yearly Swiss Thermomix gathering this afternoon. One ear was listening to the motivational pitch in Swiss German and one hand was shopping on your site on my tablet. Very efficient use of my time.

I just did a review of the pesto & tuna pasta salad from the app but forgot to write it in the title. Is there a way to edit it?
-
I've done it for you Tasty but in future just click on modify which allows you to go back into the posting to change things.

Well kids…we made the SMH today in their App-etite review of cooking apps! How exciting is that…it was of course by default, but I think we made the cut based on great reviews on Apple…awesome hey?
The little app that could….

You are mentioned on the same page as Margaret Fulton. Well done. :-*
-
Nice to get amongst it all Tenina.

For those looking for the app, it's now called "spin a dinnner"

Believe it or not, we had to change the app name because we got a lawyers letter from Readers Digest….they have apps called DinnerSpinner, but not Dinner Spinner, and our lawyer told us we could fight the good fight….but we just thought we would solve the problem with less stress (isnt there enough of that to go around??) and re named it accordingly!
More recipes being added to it monthly FYI…so good value!

Its official, we now have an ipad version as an upgrade, so if you have already purchased the upgrade will work on both iphone and ipad, but extra features on the ipad….go…download…now….

Just done thanks Tenina. Going to check it out now. :)
-
Ooh...off to download upgrades!
-
Just downloaded the upgrade and I'm impressed.
I think the voice feature where you say 'next' and it moves onto the next step/page is great, especially since it means keep dirty fingers off the screen - ingenious!!
Great how you added parts for ntoes and also our own rating system so we know whether we'd make it again or not.
Oh and it is so much clearer for the ipad now.
Well done and keep it up!!
-
Downloaded the upgrade last night.. Also impressed although didnt notice a voice feature but have to admit only had a quick look..
-
Are there any new recipes with it? I'm wondering if it's worth buying or not seeing I already have the book. ???
-
Me too. I wonder is it worth it?
-
Up dated it this morning, and love the voice feature. I don't think there are any new recipes but I like the free update, also room for notes.
-
There are more rcipes than the book if im not mistaken and what is this voice feature. Eryone is talking about, going to check if i have another updat waiting??
-
Ok stupid just found it.. Need to go further into the recipe lol
-
Yes, there are new recipes. I think so far there are 4 more than the book and more to come. I think she's puts two extra every month or two. Here are the ones I believe are not in the book:
Three Cheese pizza with heirloom tomatoes
Beef and Basil
Malabar Fish curry
Chicken Vindaloo
oh and chicken, fennel and potato bake
Are any of these on her site??
-
Yes Tasty, they are all on her website.
-
The beef and basil is lovely, but I cooked it in the wok.
