Hello all,
I havent even received my thermomix yet and I cannot wait to get started!!!
I am susan and I am curretly on maternity leave as I have a 6 week old bub and a 2 and a half year old. I recently purchased a thermomix (like yesterday and is still being sent to me). When say still I dont expect it for a few weeks but I am sooo excited.
I am interested in raw, quick and delicious recipes.....I love the idea that I can buy whole foods and make into sauces, jams, etc myself with no other additives. I can even make butter! I just have no idea what to do with buttermilk...lol
I needed a new oven and the thermomix won! I cannot wait to get to know everyone and I will see you across the boards.

Welcome Susan, I'm sure you will have a great time on the forum. Where abouts do you come from?
-
Hi Susan, welcome to the forum. You will love the Thermomix for making delicious food for the children, healthy alternatives to shop bought rubbish. Buttermilk from making butter can be used for breadmaking or scones etc. Hope your kitchen helper arrives soon.

Welcome Susan. I use buttermilk instead of milk in my baking, especially muffins and cakes.

you wont look back once you start
its so much fun and you can make stuff you would never think to make before and with a bit of practice you will be convert your old family favorites

I am definitely NOR.....
My consultant lives SOR so thats why mine is taking 2 weeks as she is bringing it to me at my party. I bought one from a friends party. If that makes sense.
I have already cleared my cupboard for wholefoods and I am in the process of fully cleaning out my kitchen,...its like getting ready for a pet...lol...finding a place for it to sleep, finding 'his space' etc....lol

Welcome Susan - you are blessed to be so close to so many TMX addicts. Looking forward to hearing of your thermie journey!! :) :)
-
Welcome Susan and James. You will both love your new little gadget.
I have had mine for over a year and couldn't live without it now. My son is on an Addditive Free Diet, and love that I can make him delicious meals and lunchbox goodies without all the nasties. Today he is taking banana bread, mashed potato bites and pizza scrolls in his lunchbox. All made in the thermie. No packet stuff at all. The only non Thermie food in there is his fruit.

thanks ladies...I had issues cleaning it for the first time but I guess I will get quicker with practice. I am eating my first meal that I made right now. yummo

Hi Susan,
So nice to hear that you're finally cooking with it! What was the first meal you cooked with your new Thermomix?
I've had my Thermie for eight months now and can easily say it changed my life. Bold statement, but this summer I started to grow my own vegetables, since two weeks I work only 40% (used to work three days a week, now only two) so I have more time to cook and try new things with the Thermomix. Never thought this would happen.
It's like you start a journey when you buy one, and I am still discovering new places.....love the ride!! It's just a shame that here in Holland the Thermomix is quite unknown, and even 'spreading the word' doesn't really help. I thought of becoming a consultant here, but for now I have to be honest and say that I so much like to spend my extra free time cooking.....I did start a blog however, just yesterday.
Anyway, too much about me, this should be all about you and your new Thermomix!!!! I truly hope you enjoy your Thermie as much as everybody here on this forum!!! ;)

I made a brekfast rissoto and it was yummo - I didnt want to adjust the recipe for one person so I guess I will be eating it for a few days. I think it too will change my life. I made a chcken casear salad tonight and made the dressing in it and it was yummo...trying to find tomorrow nights dinner riht now...lol
