I went to Yoke Mardewi's book launch at her place yesterday and have decided that I'd like to do a few more of her classes. Is anyone interested at all? If so I can PM you the ones I hope to go to, it is more fun if there is 2 or more of you.
I had the most scrumptious almond crossaint yesterday. ;)

i just love sourdough! it would depends when the course is if i could come or not. My dads wife did a course a few months ago and loved it, and i heard one of our wedding photographers actually photographed for her new book.

I'd like to do another class as well.
-
Yippee. It sounds like fun. I hope to go to the same one as Haslly, and also Gluten Free wholegrains next week, Wholegrain and Sprouted Grains in November and a Christmas class in December.
Here is Yoke's website if you want to have a look.

As you'll see Yoke has rather a lot of courses at different times. We don't have to eat gluten free or sourdoughs but I just love making different types of breads.
-
I've emailed Yoke about flatbread/dips class as well.
-
I have email about the GLUTEN-FREE WHOLEGRAINS next Thursday, weekends aren't good for me at the moment, I am on holidays next week so I can go, if the class isn't booked out.
-
Sorry for a silly question but I really dont know that much about sourdough at this stage but can we use the tmx in the process or is it done by hand. Just deciding whether to book a class - I must be getting lazy in my cooking these days!
-
Shazzy, Yoke's classes are done by hand.
Jeninwa I am going to next Thursdays class so I hope you can get in. May see you there.
-
See you there Cookie1 I have just booked in.

Had the Gluten free sourdough class today. I'm full to exploding as we sampled so much. Blinis, crumpets, breads and P..........(Dutch somethings). I am so glad that I don't have anyone who needs to eat this way though. Yoke used buckwheat, rice flour, quinoa, and sorghum flours.
Jeninwa was there too. Lovely to see you jeninwa. We brought home some buckwheat and quinoa bread to make.
I can't wait for my next class there, I'm really enjoying them.
We also ate waffles and crepes and burger buns.

Poffertjes maybe Cookie?? Dutch pancakes they are
I can't wait to do more courses with Yoke :D I have to wait for the weekend ones though - jolly kids! :-))
-
Great to hear that you had a good day Cookie. I have booked in on the 15th for the beginners class and am really looking forward to it.
-
That's what they were called Faffa Poffertjes. Lovely to spend the day with you Cookie, its nice to do a class with some
My bread is in the oven, it was after 6 when I got home tonight and the dough was just about over the top of the bowl. I thought I might have ruined it. DH one of the crumpets that I bought home and was very impressed. Bought 2 crumpet rings, they didn't have any of the pie tins that Yoke used.

Yes, that is what they were called. They were lovely. Yoke had also prepared some frozen chips of coconut with palm sugar to put on things. Yum yum yum.
