Add
¼ cup of chopped copha a little at a time (the pkt will have markings)
Add
¼ cup of flour, slowly increase speed 3 to 4 for about 15 sec

store it in a glass jar. No need to put it in the fridge.

Great tip, Fundj. I have been wary of that spray stuff since a propellant that is in it wrecked my expensive nonstick frypan, but still use it for cake tins--will happily swap over to this, much more environmentally friendly.

l use a hand pumped  oil bottle
which  my mother in law brought from armadale  k mart  in perth
a specialty kitchen store  sells them to
you can fill it up with any oil you like pump it and spray on to your tins
works well   l use it all the time

I have Wilton's Cake Release which is in a flip top plastic bottle. I use a brush to spread it. I reckon this would work in a pump or squeezie sauce bottle too!@

Thanks fundj and CC!

I'm not a big fan of copha, could you use coconut oil?

PS Uni if you have any left can you take a photo?
It's the first day of school holidays and my brain is already fried.

Thanks Uni.
It's quite thick.

Might give it a go.
I have unrefined EV coconut oil.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Rara x

Ps thanks Gert..  Does it need to have a high smoke point?

I really don't know Rara. What are you using it for? . I have never used coconut oil  but if this is for lining a cake tin I do 't think it will matter. My mother always used butter for that And the smoking point is the same so......

Why does it have to be in a spray bottle?  If I were using it I think I would just take a tissue or paper towel wet it from the bottle and swipe it around.    Don't know why I am trying to help as I am hopeless at cakes. LOL!

Gert running away before I get shot down  ;D ;D

Forgive my ignorance but why would anyone choose to use a hydrogenated oil? Knowing what the science now says about such things?

I am like your mother Gert and use old butter papers for greasing tins.

I love this but after my first drama where it wasn't gluten free, now I can't remember if I used grapeseed or macadamia oil and when the school has a nut free policy...
