Hi! My name is Sara. I'm in Sydney. My Thermomix arrived on Friday, and I've used it every day since it's been here.
I've blogged, http://willowandmoo.blogspot.com/2011/09/confession-time.html (http://willowandmoo.blogspot.com/2011/09/confession-time.html), about a few of the things that I've done. Today I made my son's morning smoothie, a marble cake, and the filling for sausage rolls. I'm trying to use the TMX for as many things as possible right now to get a good feel for its strengths in my kitchen. I have to admit that I am reticent about cooking a main meal in it (worried about mushy meat), but I'll get over my issues soon. ;)
Love the forum. It's such a wealth of information. :)

Hi Sara, Welcome to the forum. You sound very enthusiastic about your new TM. And the good news is that feeling never goes away. After 8 months I am still so excited about my TM and what I am going to make next.

Hi Sara, welcome to the forum. I bought my TMX mainly for main meals and have not been disappointed cooking the majority of my meals in it. You just have to see some of the lovely pictures posted to see the finished product does look edible but it takes a while to appreciate the strength of the machine and mush is always an option if you over process anything. I had no intention of making bread, jam, ice-cream etc etc but it is sitting on the bench willing and able to do all these things. It is the complete package - some of us have even cooked a roast in it with just a little help from the stove top. Check out this (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5692.0) thread.

dede, I hope I am the same. :) I'm pretty sure that I will be. I spent lots of time thinking about this purchase. Plus I love to cook, and like anything that helps me to make awesome food.
CC, thanks for that link. I might have to give it a try, but try a substitute for the cream. I am doing Weight Watchers. Then again I could do it with cream and have lots of steamed veg with it. :D
Thanks leesmac78!
fundj, great tip! I might try it tomorrow. I have some lamb pieces that want to be made into rogan josh. I'm in Dundas, so not too far from you.
Hi Trudy.
Judy, I think my opinion is partially influenced by a friend who hadn't be thrilled with the results cooking meat meals in her TMX, but after reading here I know lots of y'all are. I have a habit of over-thinking before acting. I am one of those people who will read and research and evaluate all options in my head before beginning. Sometimes this is frustrating because i waste a lot of time thinking when I could be doing. It's nice to get a push in the right direction. :)

LOL leesmac78! Unfortunately I've been busy with work then after school playdates and parties the past couple of days. Sadly I haven't used my TMX much. I made my son's smoothie in it this morning. I did make a curry in it on Wednesday, and I am very happy to report that the meat did not resemble mush at all! The kids are on school holidays now, and I'm not working next week, so I'm hanging out to cook a lot next week!
Thanks Robyn. :)

Welcome Sara and I envy you as you start your new journey with your machine. Nothing can beat the excitement of finding out what it can do.
I do the honey mustard chicken but instead of using cream I used Total 2% yoghurt and it works just fine so I recommend you give it a go.

Sara, welcome to the Forum. Loved your Blog. Keep at the mashed potatoes as they at great once you get the process right.
