Title: Persimmon recipes
Post by: cecilia on September 14, 2011, 08:22:02 am
If anyone has access to persimmons, what are you favourite recipes to prepare persimmons in the Thermomix?

I have two customers who love persimmons and I would like to surprise them from time to time with suggestions for Thermomixed persimmon recipes.

This is a Persimmon Sorbet - standard demo recipe with my customer's yummy tweaks:

Quote
80 - 100g coconut sugar, milled to a superfine consistency.  (Purchase coconut sugar from an organic food supplier.)
small knob of peeled fresh ginger, ground up with the coconut sugar
good pinch cinnamon
300g ripe persimmon pulp
700g ice (added in two portions of 350g)
pear optional as a variation

Here's (http://www.persimmonsaustralia.com.au/recipes/low-fat-persimmon-muffins) a muffin recipe Cecilia - needs converting though.

Wow!  That was quick, JD.  Thank you.  I need practice converting too.  Got to get rid of my L and P plates in that department soon and do it with confidence.

I'm bumping up this thread because I just bought 1.5kgs of persimmons at the market today.  They were on special and I could not resist.

I've never had persimmon before (the thermomix is making me try all sorts of different things) so if anyone has some great suggestions on what to bake to show them at their best I would love to hear it.  Otherwise it might be persimmon jam
