Have been asked to demonstrate the joys of Thermomix to an American group and seeing as we're not too far from Thanksgiving, I wondered if the experienced users could assist me to develop some ideas on what might go over well and show off the awesome Thermomix effectively.
I will edit as I think and do my research. Anyone have any immediate ideas to share, please?
Thank you to this writer of this blog (http://www.acanadianfoodie.com/2009/10/12/happy-thanksgiving-2009-much-to-be-thankful-for/). I'll bet he/she is on this forum.

My baby turns 5 next Tuesday and he is having a party with lots of friends and family, so the TM will get a big workout. We having the party on the 24th at the train Park here in Perth (Tas) where there is plenty of room for the kids to run around. And as we are building at the moment our place isn't the safest place for a hole heap of 5 year olds.

Dear friends, Thank you so much for the encouragement. I have been offline with my nose in my American recipe books and trying to draw up a bit of a menu. I look forward to this meeting this challenge with everyone's support. --- cecilia
PS If any members are in southern Tasmania, you'd be most welcome to attend the Australian American Association's annual Thanksgiving Dinner. PM me for more details.

A typical Thanksgiving dinner:
Roasted turkey with dressing (stuffing)
Turkey gravy
Candied sweet potatoes or squash
Brussels sprouts
Mashed potatoes
Cranberry sauce
Pumpkin pie for dessert.
if you go to Epicurious.com you can get some more ideas. Thanksgiving in the US is a bigger holiday than Christmas - in fact, it is the biggest holiday of the year. In Canada, not so much, Christmas is the biggest one.

Dede, you will have great fun cooking for it all...
Train park sounds like a good place for a party.
Are you going to do a train cake?
Hally ;)
-
ElsieD that sounds wonderful except the Brussel sprouts (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-sick009.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php).
And Hally He wants a number 5 cake with cars on it (So nice and easy). The train park is great as there is a BBQ area, play ground and toilets.
