Title: Can I.....?
Post by: Red Kell on September 13, 2011, 02:45:38 pm
Hi all,
just wondering if it is safe to grind rock salt in thermie? The salt I have is fresh from Dampier Salt, and is chunky with some pretty big pieces. I don't want to do anything that might kill my thermie (not sure I could live without him now, LOL)

I can't see why not, you can crush ice cubes to sharpen your blades, and I have also seen on Youtube somebody grinding sand, I wouldn't recommend that.  Even so I am a newbie so wait until someone smarter and better looking comes along.  Come on you good looking girls with the brains out there, it won't take long.

You can definitely grind rock salt. How big is the biggest chunks? You can grind whole nutmeg if that gives you any idea  :)

Ok, some of the bits are huge (3-5cm) so if I bash them a bit first it should be good? Thanks guys :)
