Hi Everyone,
After six months or so of owning a Thermomix, I've realised that there is a range of staples that I always make and have on hand. I couldn't find a thread to see other people's thoughts, so thought I'd start a new one to compare notes. What are your TMX staples - the dishes or basics that you always have sitting in your fridge or freezer or that you are constantly replenishing for your family?
Mine are:
- Sliced bread and rolls (usually based on Isi's Portugeuse recipe, but there are variations)
- Yoghurt (always plain greek-style, but I'm currently also experimenting with sweet yoghurts)
- Ice cream (quite a few varieties, but vanilla or coconut are our most common ones)
- Vegetable stock
- Custard (our fave is made on coconut cream)
- Danubes (usually stuffed with olives for DH & DS' lunchboxes)
- Quirky Jo's lentil bolognaise (for use on pasta/rice, or as base for lasagna or shepherd's pie)
- Whole orange cake
- Lemon yoghurt cake
- Cinnamon scrolls
- Savoury scrolls (usually with olives, sundried tomatoes, baby spinach)
- Buttermilk scones
- Butter
I'm sure come summer, I will add lemonade, cordials and sorbets to that list.
What are your staples?

Apart from bread, I really don't have staples Jenny, I just go as my gut guides me. Fundj posted this (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6241.msg81477#msg81477) a while back which is along the lines of what you have posted. Not a long thread, maybe yours will get people going ;)

Thanks JD. It would be interesting to see what other people do. I'm not sure this thing saves me time - but that's only because I cook so many of the things I used to buy.

Um let me think...................................
Cheese and bacon rolls and bread
Stock concentrate
Judy's mayonnaise
Biscuits, slices and cakes
Sausage rolls
Scrolls
Butter
Relish
Worcestershire sauce
French onion soup mix
Custard
Ice cream
I just basically try to have something of some sort made fresh for the family at all times, as they are constantly "starving to death" (Yeah right)

Not a huge list
Veggie stock paste
Chicken liquid stock
Chicken stock paste, need to make some
Red thai curry paste
Green thai curry paste
FOSM
All the above are used regularly
Also MM's bol sauce, always have one ready to for lasagna
Bread
Some type of muffin, scrolls or maddys cheese & bacon rolls, easy recess for school
Biscuits or a cake
Thats about it that i can think of right now

peanut butter
cordial
pasta of various forms
bolognaise sauce
vegie stock
butter (and of course buttermilk)

Yvette, i am sure making your own will work out much cheaper.
Its great to have in the freezer, we eat a lot of spicy food, in fact nearly all my frozen left overs are curry dishes.
