My Thermomix is arriving on Thursday! Yay! But I need help. I want to do a shop so I can start cooking straight away. What are your essential, bare-bones, pantry essentials? I have been told my way of shopping will be forever changed?
Obviously there will be differences from person to person, but I am just looking for ideas as I have no idea!
So can you tell me what is in your pantry please? Thanks!

Since buying my tm i use a lot of
Eggs,
Butter,
Flour, strong white flour & sr flour
Milk,
Raw sugar
Yeast dried
Use up all your pre-packaged items, then you will find you wont need to replace them.
I make bread, pasta and pastry regularly these days
Hope this helps

I couldn't do without bread flour, yeast and EVO to make all sorts of different breads- raw sugar for sweets and plenty of fresh fruit & veg. Janem, have lots of ice cubes ready for sorbets & juices too. If you are cooking from scratch now (pre TMX) you should already have the basics :)

Here's (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1571.0) an earlier thread Jane - more ideas here with other links as well.

Your quick JD - I was just coming to see if that link had been posted ;)
-
Nice to see we are on the same wavelength Kathryn.
-
The link didn't come through, JD and Kathryn. Could one of you re-post it when you have a chance. Ta.
-
Nuts - I use loads of nuts now, mostly raw almonds and raw cashews.

the link did not show for me? Maybe I will try in a different browser? thanks
thanks everyone for your help. I would have forgotten the yeast for sure!
-
Sorry Jane, all fixed now.
-
JD - how did you put the link in after you had posted the thread? I tried to do that on one this morning but it didn't work as I didn't get the appropriate icons up when I was editing my post.
-
cuildidh you can only edit your own posts - look for the modify button
-
Not sure Marina if you were trying to put a link in on one of your already posted threads? As CP said, click on the modify button of your own personal thread, won't work for anyone elses unless you are a moderator. Before you do that, you should have gone to whatever it was that you wanted presented as a link, highlighted it then press Ctrl & the letter C. Then go to the thread you are modifying, highlight the word here for example and you should know what to do from there. Are you with me so far? Do you need more instruction from there?

Parsley - if you don't have any growing, and even if you do you might need some more!
Parmesan cheese!
