Help, i have been banned.
We have so many left over meals in the freezer, dh has said no more. We need to empty the freezers.
That means baking too, he has taken 1/2 the football cake to work to be eaten before it goes stale.
He says he has gained weght recently and needs to cut back.
I dont know what to do......
There is so much i just want to whip up.....
Even DS is taking flasks of cooked meals to school for lunches!!
Most women would love a week off, but tm owners ;D

This is a problem for small families Hally but go with DH wishes and have some days out instead - trouble is you will probably go shopping and spend more money on DH's credit card and then be in more trouble. Guess you can't win :D :D Clean the house from top to toe perhaps :-\

Hally, we have two TMXs here... plus usually around 8 children... we'd love to have you visit! ;)

Get some chooks: they'll look after the left-overs :D Seriously, Hally, have a break and enjoy the spare time with your family! With spring coming you could start a vegie patch...

I must admit I have a self imposed ban at times. It's just too easy with Thermie and like you say left overs everywhere. Research new recipes for next week and keep an eye on the forum this way you still get a bit of a Thermie fix.

Oh Hally, that's a terrible problem to have! Please come - I need to restock, I have been too busy working and reading the forum to actually cook more than very quick meals. I need the freezer stocked - bread, savoury meals, kids' lunches, ice cream. Oh, and yoghurt too! As you can see plenty of work for you here...

if you really need to cook something and feed the addiction (and not DH), perhaps offer to cook a friend a surprise dinner if she buys all the ingredients or maybe surprise one or two friends with some biccies...

Last night I defrosted some mince before ban was set in place, so will have to figure how far i can string out 1/2 kg of mince.
Gym and shopping........shopping......
I have a herb and veggie patch.
Made lasagna and chocolate cake for a friend at the weekend.
I know it has to be done.....but so hard
If you lived closer youbcould all come and grab some cotainers.
I have bread, soup, curries, casseroles, pasta dishes galore!!LOL
On treadmill atm

Also having a root canal thursday so hopefully wont feel like cooking thursday and friday..maybe....
I can see a lot of coffes with girlfriends, in fact might see uf one is free later

Sometimes I ban myself from cooking meals and bread until our freezer is cleared. I still tend to use thermie during that time though to stock up on stocks, sauces, jams etc. I get miserable if I go too long without using him. :)

My freezer is pretty critical at the moment - it is so full I cannot jamb anything else in so we're having a bit of an eat-a-thon just now as well - considering I was down to ice cubes in my freezer about three weeks ago, I've got the complete reverse situation now!

Root canal - ouch!! :( Hope it goes well. Maybe you need to make yourself some ice-cream :)
I sometimes have to ban myself from cooking, along with a ban on food shopping. It is so hard though! Our freezer, fridge and pantry are always overflowing. It's only my partner and me at home so we can (and really should) only eat so much.
My Mum lives alone so I'm always taking extra food and goodies over to her. Both my partner and I often take cakes and treats to work to share, or I make stock and curry pastes etc and give them away to other family members. There is always someone willing to take your excess :)

We have 1 large chest freezer, full, 1 fridge freezer in garage, full & 1 very large drawer freezer with 2 drawers inside full.
No room for anything else, i did a large meat shop which i had to squeeze in, dors only just shut.
I have been bad lately, no left overs eaten, all have gone in the freezer.
My 1/2 kg of mince i am making mm bol sauce, will just about squeeze that in when i take out some containers for later.
Root canal wont be fun, at least i wont worry about what dh and ds are eating.
I should be more diligent with leftovers but always want to try something new.
I thought about making a chicen paste stock and freezing it in 2 or 3 containers.
Been to the gym, had coffee at a girlfriends, done washing, mm bol sauce in tm, did the really exciting grocery shopping, mmm now let me see, toilet rolls, kids shampoo, kitchen paper, domestos, really rivetting stuff.
JD cant clean house top to bottom, its pretty clean atm, plus if i dd that cooking would be banned regularly!! I would go into withdrawals and goodness knows where that wouod lead ;D

That makes 2 of us! I haven't been banned from cooking as such but I am on a mission to empty my freezer too! And I am determined to make sure I label things properly when I start filling it again too! It is a lucky dip at the moment with what it turns out to be when defrosted! ;D

I know i have been bad at labelling, dh fault he took the labels.
Tonight we have chicken & veg soup, spag bol & i think a curry.LOL

I just don't have left overs here. Nothing ever makes it to the freezer.
Its school holidays here at the moment and I'm having a break from cooking as the kids don't need stuff for school lunches. Its nice not to be on my feet so much cooking and catch up with some other stuff around the house. Although I just whipped up some ice cream, a baked cheese cake and some banana choc chop muffins. (I just cant help my self to make something lol)
Good luck with the Root Canal. MY DS came off his scooter 5 years ago when he was 9 and broke his 2 front adult teeth and had to have a root canal on one of them. He was really good and it didn't seem to worry him at all. Hopefully yours will be as easy.

Yes i need more kids, we have a lot over all th tome but still too much food in the house.
I have 1 hour before pick up, normally would be doing something in the kitchen.
Its bizarre i have nothing to do.......
Tomorrow am going to plan my day better.
I have savoury and sweet muffins in the freezer, so nothing to cook.
It will be nice seeing the freezer empty, which of course then produces another problem, the cotainers wont fit in the cupboards!!LOL then dh will moan there is no room there as well, but then i will be able to go. "da da look at all the room in the freezers" LOL

i wish i had a freezer full of left overs and was banned from cooking lol! as much as i love my tm, sometimes i dont feel like cooking at all! enjoy your time off hally, then you can work really hard again to fill up your freezer once its empty!

Sitting down watching the bold and the beautiful, thats a first, sometimes the tv is on but i am cooking!
Then i am going to have a long bath & dh can reheat our meals, trying to mae it hard fir him!!!LOL

Spare time? Start a book club? I've been neglecting my books since getting Thermie.
I'm trying to stop shopping & make do with what I have, can relate to the lack of space! Lucky you to have so much prepared food :D As I'm so new to this I'm still using bought stuff before I make everything I can.

JD the ban is on today by my choice and tomorrow, will see how I feel friday.
It would be good to get the freezer right down, i think i am going to have to do some digging in all 3 freezers, i am sure there are items in there to be thrown out too.
My prpblem is I cook a meal that feeds 4-6, then i whip up an extra one for the freezer, so i should stop cooking the extra meal too, that will help with the freezer problem.
Faffa why is dh taking tm to work?
I am happy to cook with you whenever you want, just love to cook with friends it is such fun.

Well freezer drawers in kitchen cleaned out. Now have 50% space, yay.
Anything that had no label and i coudnt identify got thrown. Found some interesting items pre TM days. :o :o Frozen scones from bakers delight, sliced bread (quite a few bags) with about 3 slices in each bag, spring rolls dated feb this year, some small zip lock packs of left over sauces/ gravies from slow cooker days. Very interesting and all binned! Yay Happy Hally ;D
Found some cream dated end of April, not sure if that shoukd be binned. It was the expensive brand in the squidgy pack with the cute cow on the front. Ok to use or bin??? :-[
Next week freezer 2 & 3.

Well done Hally, it certainly pays to give the freezer a good clean out occasionally. Did you do an inventory so you now know what is in there. 50% more space, unbelievable - don't tell DH it all ended up in the bin, let him think it was good organising that gained you the extra space. The cream would probably be OK but seeing as you are in that sort of mood, I'd put it with the rest of the unwanted items ;) ;)

I know 50% more space, but i am still going to be good and not add too much too it, apart from my 7kg of meat i have on order ;D but it was free range and a good deal. I just cant help myself.
I found the scones interesting, never would buy anything like that again and obviously were not that good as left there. Good on you TM you are so much better than they are.
Yes will throw the cream.
Busy day otherwise i would do other freezers.
No i didn't write an inventory, i will for the other 2, this freezer is meant to be my daily working one, so it should turn around quickly.
Of course i wont tell DH, just Let him know That we are using up Left overs. ;D

Oh Hally you are doing so well. We have one up right freezer inside and one massive freezer in garage which I need to clean out ready for half a beast and a couple of sheep to go in soon.

Oh Hally. I know what you mean. Our German kitchen (whilst quite large for German standards) is half the size of our Australian kitchen. And with a smaller kitchen one ends up with a smaller fridge freezer.
Mine used to be much more empty and now I need my foot to push in the freezer drawers now... For one mighty Thermie, we see to be able to cook up an extraordinary amount of food. Even though Ed is in Sweden for work, I still cooked, rather the defrosted as there wasn't enough noise in the house, other than a blaring television and two small, yappy dogs!!!
I somehow need to cook onions and smell that wonderful aroma in my house, know what I mean????

I sooooo know what you mean, mine is used everyday and i just love to hear her purr away, infact she has a much louder purr than my 2 felines. ;DLOL
I really miss using her, left overs are for emergencys i think. I did use her yesterday and shes just sitting on the bench waiting to play.
Nice to have more freezer space tho. Theres only 2 of u, and 3 of us, she does generate large meals for our family, she does cook lots of treats for other kids too, shes very kind. It seems sad to leave her home alone.
I am sure she wil beckon me and i wont be able to resist. Its really odd not cooking dinner in her.

Ooh, baby thermomixes.
Hally how awful. I can't think of a worse punishment than being banned from using my machine. I have hardly used mine in the last week as it has been so hot and humid, we've been living on grills and salad. I can't wait to get home and try all the delicious recipes I've seen on the forum since we left home. (and to catch up on all the unread posts)
