Title: Banana Softserve Icecream
Post by: Vivaroo on August 31, 2011, 03:40:14 am
Not really a recipe and maybe you do this already:

2 frozen banana in pieces, 2 tsp homemade milo, high speed for 10 seconds, scrape down, blitz again 10 seconds on 10 sp, and viola banana icecream that the kids actually liked.

From Choosing Raw blog http://www.choosingraw.com/recipes/desserts/banana-soft-serve/ and one of the main reasons I wanted a TMX - for heathy yummy food.   A quick after dinner treat  :)

Quirky Jo has a lovely version of this type of ice-cream here  (http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com/2010/02/chocolate-banana-nut-ice-cream.html) Viv - a variation of yours.

Quirky Jo knows how to improve a great idea.  DD made this herself before I got home from work today, just like ice-cream but better!  I'm going to freeze some tinned peaches and try peachy ice-cream.

I'll be interested to see how it goes.

Cookie1 it went well.

Just peaches in syrup, drained & frozen on a tray so not clumping together, nothing else except the speed of TMX.

I wasn't around to taste, DD did it herself after school and said it was FANTASTIC.  My kids aren't fussy but have discerning tastes so I believe her.  Maybe it helps we hardly ever have dessert, so they're not used to creamy sweet things (who am I kidding - they go to their grandma's weekly and you'd think they've never been fed, she has all the goodies!)

Roll on summer and frozen fruit desserts  8)

Hi I was just wondering what you meant by "homemade milo" in you banana softserve recipe and if you could give us the recipe it would be fantastic!

Thanks Judy!

Have to say the frozen tinned peaches are turning out to be a favourite snack around here.  I put the drained peaches in one of those large clip seal bags that we get our lettuce in and lay flat in the freezer, easy to break up into segments when it freezes.

Yep still waiting for plentiful cheap bananas.
