Title: Indonesian meatballs

Name of Recipe:Indonesian meatballs
Number of People:Lots

original recipe from. W W Original cook book

Ingredients:
500 g potatoes.
500 g minced steak
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
4 shallots( i did not have any i add 2 talblespoon of parsley )
¼ teaspoon pepper
30 g butter
2 eggs, separated
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
1½ teaspoon salt
Oil for deep frying


Preparation:
1.   Cook, drain and mash potatoes.
2.   Chop onion and garlic .add butter 4 mins 70  ^^, MC off
3.   Add minced meat salt pepper and nutmeg. Cook for 7 mins on 100 speed 1  :-: MC off
4.   In a bowl combine mashed potatoes with meat mixture and egg yolks. Form mixture into small balls.
5.   Refrigerate for 1 hour to firm.
6.   Beat egg whites very lightly with fork in small bowl. Dip meat balls one at a time in egg whites.
7.   Deep- fry in hot oil until golden brown.

Tips/Hints:
1 I did try and knead the mixture in the bowl but my TM stopped working not sure why, but all ok now
2 The speed on step 3 should be faster, maybe 3.( brunt bowl)
3 i was tempted to add bread crumbs. mixture is soft . no need for bread crumbs.

Great, thanks fundj - searched for a recipe that uses mince and I have everything on hand without having to shop so we'll have your recipe for dinner.  Thanks so much.

You will be surprised how lite and yummy these are. My family loves them.

Tips/Hints:

fundj - on page 34 of your TMX manual it says the knead function does not work if the bowl temperature is not under 60o.  Apparently a buzzer sounds if the temperature is higher but I've never heard it.

Mine's never buzzed either, but sometimes refuses to work because it's too hot.

likewise when the bowl is hot and you need to blitz, the safety feature kicks in and there is a slight delay as it gets to the speed

I used your recipe tonight steaming in the Varoma instead of deep-frying.  May not have been quite Indonesian Meatballs but it was delicious anyway.  I steamed for 40 mins which was just a guess, adding veges in with 15 mins to go.
