Hi
Can anyone tell me if you can mince a chicken carcass in the Thermomix?
Thanks
-
I really dont know as i've never tried but i guess you can do it as the bones are softer then other things i mince.
Anyway why would you mince a carcass? Is it for dog food?

My inlaws are Chinese and chop chicken carcasses and them boil them with ginger and garlic to make the most delicious stock. I cook the carcass of a roast chicken , in the TMX and also make a stock that I use in soups and other savory dishes. I also have thought about chopping them in the TMX' think I will give it a go. Thanks for your responses it is for dog food. I thought it would be fine as they aren't as hard as say dried chickpeas or wheat. Think it might be easier to cook them first to soften them too? Bek

For chicken stock its better to leave the bones whole as if you break them the stock will not be clear.

Well I tried it tonight, I put a carcass (without the leg bones) in the steaming basket with some carrots, celery, bay leaves & peppercorns and made a stock first, Then I chopped up the carcass into chunks & minced it on speed 9 for a few seconds & it worked! So for anyone interested in making their own dog food with chicken bones it can be done in the thermomix....of course!

Thanks Bek, what did you do with the stock?

I've got the stock in the fridge to use later today in my chicken on ginger rice recipe.

Great, waste nothing, and a saving to the house keeping.
