Ok. So I have searched the realms of the interweb for a recipe/instructions on how to make your own brown rice (or any rice) syrup.
I haven't been able to find any article with proper steps to follow just some explanations on the broad process. If anyone can help me out with a proper recipe to make some in a thermomix or not (could be quite messy!) I would really appreciate it. Or if you can find an actual article with quantities to use to make it? Let me know.
Many thanks in advance
Julian

Gogo what do you use it for?

Gogo what do you use it for?
Looking to make my own power gels from it for endurance sports. Most brands use corn syrup. But I'm looking for an alternative to make them with. And this has been reccommended to me. Also would like to try baking with it.

You are right Julian, googling doesn't come up with the answers - how frustrating is that. You can just hope there is someone on here who has the recipe for making this. Good luck in your quest. I have sent a pm to someone who may know the answer.

Sorry, I've never made it either! I do use it in cooking though - great for bikkies, makes them nice and crisp, and I use it in my rice milk - so I'd love to know how to make it too!! Will see if I can find anything about it as well. Let us know if you figure it out, Gogo! :)

Oh I would love to know how to make it too! We go through loads of it at our place! I use it in most things that call for sugar or honey but like Jo, I love it for biscuits and slices - it creates a lovely texture.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere once the process of making it and it seemed quite complicated so I never really looked into it again. I would definitely make it if it was possible though. Sorry I am not more help!
