Help!!! I've just made 3 batch of playdough for my sons class and in the first batch I put almond essence! It wasn't until it was done that I realised that if it contained nuts they wouldn't be able to use it as it's a nut free school. I used coconut essence in the next 2 batches so that's ok! Does anyone know if it contains nuts? It contains alcohol, water, glycerine and natural almond oil flavour but doesn't have a warning about nuts on it!

found this on their website for you :)
NATURAL ALMOND ESSENCE
Our Natural Almond Essence is made from the oil of bitter almond, taken from peach seed kernels. It gives a rich almond flavour to cakes and pastries.
CONTAINS NO ALLERGENS
Hope it helps
Can I ask why (out of curiosity lol) you added the essences?
-
Not that it is of any real relevance to anything else, but does this mean that there is actually no almond in the almond essence at all?
-
looks that way Marina, but then again I am not surprised lol
I guess for those that have the allergies and want the flavour it is good for them ... as long as they aren't allergic to peaches I guess :o

Thanks for that Kathryn, I did look at the Queen website but it threw me when I read bitter almond bit!
I put the essence in cos I thought the kids might like the smell? Maybe it was just me? They will get a bit a shock if they try to eat it with all that salt in it though.
I'll make sure I tell the teacher and maybe show her the website!
Thanks again ;D ;D

lol that is why I asked as I am sure it would only encourage mine to eat it!! I do love MJ's idea for aromatherapy essences that I only just read on the play dough thread earlier. I am so far behind on my reading :(

I put aromatherapy oils in play doh too. for the smell.
