Hi everyone,
I really want to get to grips with juicing with the TM - something that I really haven't done as yet. Obviously the lemonade is clear ;D But when I tried the apple and carrot I was a bit unimpressed - not much flavour. And when I tried an old favourite recipe from a traditional juicer I did it all wrong :o So I need to stick to my own advice of doing TM recipes until I've got to grips with them before I start trying to convert ::)
So - does anyone have favourite TM juice recipes that they could share with me, please?

Haven't started them myself yet, but have tried the lemon yoghurt drink, its amazing!
The only thing is, it doesn't keep, it must be used immediately, so you need to have at least four people to serve to, or three very hungry and thirsty kids.... :P
Basically its the same as the lemonade, but made with milk.
2 whole lemons, cut in half
130g sugar
1 litre of fridge cold milk
Turbo for 2 seconds, and you have yoghurt! Do the same as with the lemonade, place basket in THX and pour into jug to seive. Amazing...try it...it really works, not too sure how, but it does.
Have heard that you can do it with strawberries and just 1 lemon, but haven't tried that one as no strawberries here yet, but will certainly be on my list of things to do :D

Here in Spain, we have a famous drink called Horchata, made from chufas, which after much searching in dictionaries are supposedly tigernuts? ??? Have you ever heard of tigernuts? Can you get them? I have a great refreshing drink using tigernuts? If anybody would like to try....

well, I've found a supplier of Tigernuts (which I'd never heard of before, but am now very interested in. Looks like they fight cancer, among other things). Also, presumably (in light of the Wiki article posted by brazen) I could use Almonds to make it. Would love the recipe, please ;D
Now that I know about Tigernuts, I'm starting to investigate growing some. They sound very interesting. Thanks for broadening my horizons.

I have seen chufas or horchata in Australia - it may have been in Sydney - and I have drunk horchata in Spain. It is delicious - a bit like drinking almond milk. May even have been horchata in tetrapaks ?
Not sure where people may be able to purchase them here - you can substitute fresh almonds (they do in Latin America) but really best to taste nice cold horchata in Spain.
You may as well post the recipe though Bron (Amanda) as horchata is something that we should have in the files. ;D ;D
PS - think it was horchata in packs in Liverpool St in Sydney??

This is the original recipe in Spanish with photos.
HORCHATA
250g chufas/tigernuts (weigh them dry) soak them in water 24 hours, changing water.
200g sugar
1 and 1/2 lites agua (bottle mineral water)
Drain water from soaked tigernuts. Place tigernuts and sugar in THX and maximum speed until ground. Add some water to cover the tigernuts and maximum speed until it looks like thick and pasty. Add all the water and mix.
Strain through a fine guaze, I use muslin! And chill. Must be used within 24 hours. If any left (I doubt!) Can be frozen.....
Try it, its delicious...especially in the summer! Which most of you are in! ;D

Thanks, I found a recipe for "horchata" in a book called "Cocina Nueva" written by an Australian girl, Jane Lawson, using almonds. I will post a version here too.
