I'm thinking of getting a second bowl and blade set with my tax refund (When I get it) and I am just wondering who else has a second set and if you find it useful or should I just make do with what I have.?
-
In a word Mandi - YES :D
I used to read people saying they had one and wondered why they would possibly need one when you can only have one bowl at a time in place. Then I started making bread and leaving it to rise in the bowl and could see the merit in having a spare so I bought one. Just love it now with the 2 and if I forget to grate the cheese or something else and I am well into the cooking, I have the second one to whip on there and do it. So, if you can afford it I would definitely get one.
-
YES, I use my two bowls everyday, even if it just means getting something else cooking while I wash up the other bowl. 2nd best thing I have bought( obviously Thermie being number one)
-
yes, as per above :D
-
Me too,Christmas present from DH 18 months ago. ;)
-
Oh I couldn't live without mine now Mandi and you have just as many mouths to feed as I do. You can do with out it for sure, but you will never regret buying it :D :D
-
Mandi, I use my second bowl every day. With all those mouths to feed it would be a good investment.
-
Well I guess that's a yes then. I knew someone would help me make a decision. Well mister tax man it's a second bowl and blade set on order.
-
Mandi, I paid full price for mine and didn't realise it came with a steaming basket and butterfly as well - 2 things I didn't really need as I have a spare butterfly already just in case I forget and go over the speed and wreck it. Can't see any reason to have 2 steaming baskets either. Just wondering if you asked how much it would be without those items if the price would be cheaper. One of our consultants would know the answer to that I'm sure.
-
I don't think all the bowls come with a basket and butterfly - when I got mine, my friend's box didn't have the butterfly and basket and they were ordered at the same time.
-
I would go for it Mandi. There are so many times when a second bowl would be handy. I would love one - perhaps tax time next year.
My tax cheque this year (actually DH's cheque ;)) is going toward the surprise TM I am buying for my Mum. I'm over half way there with my savings now. Woohoo! :)
-
Mine came with the butterfly and basket , I agree with you Judy. Prefer to pay less and just get bowl and blade.
-
I will have to find out about that then. My sister is a consultant so I will get her to ask for me. Maybe I should wait to see if they bring out the cheaper second set again but that could be a long time away. Will see when my tax cheque arrives.
-
I too have extra of most of the accessories, 2 bowls ,2 knifes 2 lids, 3 MC, 3 steaming baskets and 4 butterflies.
Never really use the butterfly or the steaming basket i got them as gifts the times i had my tmx repaired together with a bunch of TMX DVDs that i never have looked.
In Spain you can order your parts online http://shop.vorwerk.com/vorwerk_es/accesorios-thermomix-tm-31.html
-
TM DVDs? How exciting!
-
I was talking to my sister ( a consultant) who said yes the second bowl comes with extra butterfly and steamer which will be nice to have spare. I might order another spatula ad well while I'm at it. I been to the accountant today and all is good. Now to wait for the refund.
-
Totally agree with all posts Dede and I don't have one either - does anyone know whether I am able to order directly from HO. :)
-
That's how I got mine Robyn. It was a quick delivery too.
-
Thanks Judy :) :) :) :) :)
-
I would love 2 jugs, so many times I thought I could do with another jug.
How much do they cost
Hally
-
I beleive they are $400 Hally. Comes with bowl, blade, lid,MC, seal, basket and butterfly.
-
$395 Hally
-
And is there a discount if you buy a second set when you initially purchase your TM? :)
-
Thanks :)
Is there a way you can our chase one at a cheaper price ie a demo or something
Hally
-
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 2nd bowl and blade set- definitely get one! I wish it had come with an extra spatula instead of the steaming basket and butterfly though!
-
At least the spatulas are only a minimal cost Caroline :) :)
-
I don't think there are any discounts available unless it's a promotion at the time.
-
Oh how I wish I had that second bowl and blade set today. I spent all day cooking and a couple of times I realized I forgot to chop something up until it was to late and had to do it by hand. Hopefully my tax will come this week so I can order my second bowl.
-
I was in the same situation today Dede my kitchen aid had to be thermie companion for the 7 doz cupcakes - made a variety of icings, cream cheese icing, butter icing and the wonderful frosting from the forum. Curried sausages were also cooked amongst the cupcake take over in the kitchen :D :D :D
-
Yay my Tax money is in. Im ordering my Second bowl and Blade set tomorrow. ;D
-
Hope it arrives as quickly as mine did when I ordered it Mandi, just a few days.
-
Dede, Great, 2 nd jug would be heaven.
Bought the bread matt today, and used it, at least i ddnt look like the abominmal snowman, yay no flour on me and no mess to clean up.
:) ;D
-
lol, My whole kitchen needs bread mats then cause when I cook I have ingredients spread all ove the kitchen. Im a messy cook but I do clean up after my self.
-
yay dede :) Im still to order a second bowl set but definately could use one..so many times I find im waiting for something to rise or cook and could be doing other stuff.... even a second thermomix would be perfect :) but dont think DH would go for that just yet...maybe at a later date ;D
-
I didn't last very long at all with the one bowl. Luckily I managed to get one through a monthly incentive. Once you have one you'll never look back.
-
I would of brought one when that promotion was on as well but only if someone had brought a TM at my demo, But as they didn't I decided not to but wished I had. Never mind will have one soon.
-
Good luck dede. Hope you get your second bowl and blade set soon. By the way when I asked about it I was told that it was the bowl and blade only. When it turned up it included the butterfly and basket also.
-
it dose come with the lid and seal as well doesn't it?
-
Yes sorry. I should have said that.
-
I thought it did but thought I would double check. Will be good to have 2 seals as mine can become a bit smelly depending what I make, I will keep one for savory and one for sweet (Wonder how long that will last?)
-
I have read lots of posts on that but I don't seem to have that problem. I make lots of curries, dishes containing chillis and other fragrants but it has never been a problem for me. Just lucky I guess.
-

til you get confused which one is which or just want to use the bowl NOW anyway lol

Dede make sure you aren't storing your jug with the lid on, leave it off so the seal can air ;) I make heaps of smelly stuff and NEVER have a smell seal or lid
-
Exactly, started with good intention- unfortunately didn't last
-
must admit I don't think I have a problem either, but I don't make a point of smelling it
-
I will keep one for savory and one for sweet (Wonder how long that will last?)
I'm with you faffa. When I first got my second bowl I was determined that the bowl, blades, lid, seal & MC would be kept together as a set and not swapped between them (just my little thing I guess). But as you said, when I wanted to cook, I wanted it then and they kinda ended up getting mixed up. I also thought about the savoury/sweet thing when I read the posts but thought the same thing would happen so I never worried about it.
-
I always keep my lid upside down on top of the bowl to help it air. I know the older seals seam to be better in that they didn't get smelly where I have the newer seal that can smell a little but I have never had problems with the smell going through anything else I cook afterwards. And I know I say I will keep one seal for sweet and one for Savory but I think that will last all of 2 seconds as you said Faffa I will want to use it now and not worry about which one is which. Unless they are color coded it will become impossible to tell I think.
-
Considering my friend's TMX jug ends up here every few days due to it being easier to cook for 10 mouths with two, I've been putting off buying a second due to pure laziness... I will ring HO in the morning and put in my order though. ;)
-
about time Ceejay!! :D :P :P :P
Dede one of mine is colour coded from when I have to take it to cooking classes ... still gets mixed up and used for whatever lol
-
You won't regret it Ceejay. Sounds like you really need one.

I think HO should consider color coding. I had the best intention but now it's just grab which ever isn't dirty. I really use mine so much- it is addictive. Need to make myself do other things like my book work or even cleaning. Not as rewarding though.
-
oh I agree there Bedlam, My garden needs tending to and I need to give the house a good spring clean and and and. Oh well at least all the family is well feed.
-
Never better,DH tried to be diplomatic and say how good the food is now, not that it wasn't before he said it just assisted as I was a good cook, haha he ended up in trouble
-
Walked right into that one didn't he?
-
Really need that 2nd bowl NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! (http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/emoticons/mood/mood-emoticon-0134.gif) (http://www.smileyvault.com/)
-
Me tooo, need 2 nd bowl badly. Just waiting to see howmuch tax we have back and some spare for me.
H
-
Yes I am saving desperately for a second bowl too (and for a TM for my Mum). It's a shame they have to be quite so expensive. :'(
-
it is very hard to believe that a bowl is 25% of the price
-
I have ordered my Second bowl, The order will go in Monday and will take around 10 days for it to arrive to me. My DH said I shouldn't get one cause I only cook 20 hours a day now lol (Slight over exaggeration I do think). I do need to sleep at some stage.
-
I have been contemplating a second bowl too before my first 3 month ownership runs out. (I read somewhere that there is a special price within the first 3 months) I have been going through my own personal Thermomix recipe directory to look at the dishes where a second bowl is needed. In my "Diet-Pro" software there is a section where you can add in any kind of criteria e.g. cake, healthy cooking, thermomix etc. I have added 2 bowls to the choices just to see how much I would use the second bowl in one recipe. All I need to do is to ask for the criteria and up comes the recipes with that tag. Gosh, I love the computer part of my foodie life!
I must admit that I am always pleased when I see that a recipe is actually telling me "no need to wash the bowl" so I can just carry on. When I do my own personal review of a recipe, I do make sure that the procedure runs in the right order and add in such instructions myself. It is all too easy to carry on and then realise that you should have ground the sugar or lentils etc first whilst the bowl was dry. Gosh! have almost talked myself into the second bowl just writing this :o :o :-\ :-\
-
Go for it DD, I'm sure you won't regret it - as an added incentive I gather that you get a spatula with the 2nd bowl if you buy within the 3 months, but you don't if you buy the bowl later.
Mind you, I very rarely use my TM Spatula....... ;) ;)
-
Once you have two you'll never know how you lived with only one. I only made it to about two months before I was looking to buy the second. It makes it so easy when you don't need to wash one just so you can use it when you're in the middle of a recipe.
-
Oh DD if you can get the 2ndbowl, i am hanging out and then i will have to wait, wish i could place the order now, but need the money first :-\
I would use it so much
Hally
-
HO should have my order by now, Hopefully my Second bowl will be on its way to me soon. Waiting........waiting........waiting......oh I hate waiting.

I am curious about the second bowl and spatula deal in the first 3 months..... can someone please explain this.....and does it apply in Australia??
I am keen to get another bowl 'cos I am sick of washing mine half a dozen times a day!
Thanks in advance :) :)
-
It must be very exciting for you all waiting to receive you second bowl. ;D
-
I have not heard about the second bowl and spatula deal so I cant comment, But I have had my TM since January so it wouldn't apply to me anyway.
-
I bought my second bowl within 3 months and I didn't get a spatula,I got the rice cooker though! No special deal for me.

That is a UK offer
-
ah ha....... thanks Meagan
-
It's only early on my cooking day and already I could of used a second bowl and blade set. First I added the eggs in first before making the caster sugar. And now I'm waiting for the cinnamon scrolls to rise in the bowl so can't do anything else at the moment. Hopefully my second bowl will arrive this week.
-
Hopecso Dede, i had the use of a 2nd bowl yesterday, how easy, bread rising and i could carry on cooking.
So want another bowl
H
-
I decided yesterday to bite the bullet and order my second bowl. I was put through to ireland where it is apparent nobody works on a saturday. I suppose they will pick up my message tomorrow (monday) now.
-
Dd, good one, borrowed one yesysrday, absolutely easy with 2.
One day will order, just have to let dh digest all my latest shopping.lol
H
-
Promptly at 9am Thermomix rang to take my order of a second bowl. Apparently, I will be getting everything with it including the Spatula at the special offer price (saving £35) because my Thermomix is less that 3 months old. It will cost me £199. I bought the book My Way of Cooking too. I will get it tomorrow morning. Thermomix are so good at posting. Of course I am in England so I have an advantage of a 24 hour service when it comes to the speed at which I get it. I shall choose a recipe from my list for tomorrow that needs 2 bowls to celebrate.
eek! happiness is Thermomix shaped ;D
-
Hope you enjoy your second bowl Dot, that's another thing I would like. Maybe for Christmas
-
Wow that is quick DD. I was told 10 days for me to get mine. I'm hoping it will come this week. I think I will do the same and find a recipe that 2 bowls will be extremely handy. Just making bread and letting it rise in one bowl while making something else will be a huge benefit. Can't wait.
-
oh so jealous but cant just yet...too much other spending going on!! And Dot lucky you have quick delivery...in france its at least a few days and im only an hour away from the factory !!
-
Only slightly impatient over the wait for mine here... how many more sleeps??? :D
-
I know what you mean Ceejay, waiting, waiting, waiting..................still waiting
-
Oh DD, fantastic, and so quick.
Dede, it must be any day now :)
H :)
-
It's a strange quirk of life, isn't it - you can survive without something for long enough then, once you have made the decision to buy it and it is ordered, suddenly you need it NOW!! Hope yours arrives soon.
-

I couldn't agree more Cuilidh.
-
My second bowl and blade set just arrived. Oh it's so shiny and new.
-
you will be on a roll now, you won't know yourself!! :D
-
You took the words out of my mouth, Faffa!! Happy Cooking Dede
-
It took me 7.5 months to decide I needed a second bowl and blade set. Will make life much easier. Think I might go a make some bread and leave it in the bowl to rise just because I can lol.
-
:D Those are my famous words when someone asks me why I make something the tis rather out of the ordinary - "just because I can" lol have fun
-
It's amazing what you do in the TMX "just because you can". I often make things I don't necessarily need or want, for the fun of it and just because I can!!
Faffa and I are certainly following each around on this thread this afternoon!
-
Hi I am also a mum of 5 kiddies (6 if include hubby :P ). I have been thinking about getting a second bowl as well, does anyone know the cost of one??
-
Cost me $404 with postage ReneD 78. Well worth it when you have a large family. And I agree with the DH also being a big kid ;D
-
Have fun cooking in your new bowl Dede. ;D
-
ReneD you will never regret it. I know it is another largish cost after the TMX but with a large family it really does make it so much easier to get other things on and then go and wash the bowl etc :)
-
I actually think it adds heaps of value to your Thermie, you can utilize it so much more. I have no regrets. It is the same as the initial purchase you worry about the cost until you are using it and then it is forgotten because you love it.
-
Mine arrived just before midday today... I haven't had time to even wash it yet due to appointments and a busy day! Oops!! :P
-
Tonight was a bit of a rush as I had to pick up my DS from football training which is right on tea time. But I come home and made chow mein and while that was cooking I prepared the potatoes in the other bowl ready to cook as soon as the chow mein was done. So already it has saved me time.
-
I would say. yes you should. I have had my TMX for just over 3 months and am totally in love with him.
I think all of us who are lucky enough to have a Thermie in our lives know we could never live without him (sorry to those who have a "her").
Like most of us who originally thought the cost was inhibitive and who now have forgotten about the price, I think having a second bowl would make things even better and more Thermomixically delicious.
I intend to get one soon and I can only begin to imagine how much more easier, creative and fun cooking will be.
Go for it!!
-
An advantage to living in Germany is the second bowl is on $261.65AUD or 189 Euros. It doesn't come with spatula or steam basket but does come with MC. I really could have used it tonight with dinner but I will need to save up a little bit. The German link is just here...

SHHHHH, don't tell Ed!!!

;D
-
As promised, I received my second bowl from Thermomix within 24 hours. I celebrated by making a Lemon Chiffon cake which requires 2 bowls so that egg whites and cream of tartar can go in a clean bowl and beaters. It was so good to know that I didn't have to be concerned that my egg whites wouldn't peak. It seemed strange to be washing 2 bowls at the end and I confess that I felt a twinge of conscience in being so indulgent without even a birthday or Christmas to make an excuse for. :-[ :-[ It didn't last long though and I am looking forward to using it. ;D ;D
-
thanks for all that info, must say it is frustrating having to wash the bowl mid way cooking some things!!! Lucky I have a birthday and christmas coming up ;D
-
Well I have had my second bowl and blade set for a little while now and have used it so many times already. It Definitly makes life that much easier and quicker. I can have one thing cooking and prepare another thing ready to cook in the other bowl ready to go as soon as the first bowl is done. Love it and so glad I brought it. So if anyone is considering buying a second bowl I would Definitly say go for it.
-
I bought the 2 bowl package straight away after my demo as I knew I would need two bowls, it makes life so much easier and I have been using both since day one, I also know that if I decide to do any local fetes/fairs and sell fresh lemonade, smoothies, sorbets or mulled wine at christmas it will be great to have one going while one bowl is being emptied. In the UK the second bowl comes with the basket, spatula and butterfly whisk. You will definitely like having the flexibility the 2nd bowl offers.
-
Wise choice Monica saves the headache of should I or shouldn't I have that 2nd bowl. My 2nd bowl arrived from HO and after only a week I would not part with the 2nd bowl. Have used it almost everytime thermie has been used. :) :)
-
How long did your bowl take to arrive to Tassie Mandi? It will be a week tomorrow since I placed my order. I am trying to stop my foot from tapping. ;D ;D
-
I love my 2nd bowl as much as bowl 1 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
;D ;D When you put it all together at the end of the cooking day Robyn, do you put bowl No. 1 into the TMX or bowl No. 2?
For some reason I always make sure it is the original that stays with the base, guess I am just wanting to keep my spare looking new for as long as possible.
-
LOL Robyn!! ;D I must admit I can't wait to get my hands on it. It will be wonderful for my bread making and everything else.
-
I was told 10 days Chelsea, I think it was something like 8 days so you should get yours pretty soon I would think.
-
I am doing the same Judy at the moment anyrate, butit has only been a couple of weeks!!!!
-
Why oh why didn't I get the second bowl sooner?? Am enjoying Thermie even more now! And who would have thought THAT was possible?!
-
over here they are having a comp until tomorrow to win a second complete bowl....put my name in...who knows although dont like my chances...they are only giving away 5!! and every open day they usually have a thermomix up for grabs!.....would be nice otherwise will have to wait until christmas I think lol....the bol not a second thermie!! :D
-
... oh I don't know, a second thermie would be pretty good as well - as a consolation prize on missing out on the bowl!
-
I couldn't agree more about having a second bowl katesjo. Having a second bowl makes it so much easier. I use mine all the time and just love it.
Good luck Frozzie with the comp. Fingers crossed for you. You got to be in it to win it as they say.
-
lol marina...yes wouldnt say no!!! thanks dede :-*
-
Have to agree there Mandi and goog luck Frozzie!!!!! :D :D
-
No great competitions in this country Frozzie, pity about that. Good luck.
-
i guess with a greater population they can put more up to offer??? but there are only 5 snif and many many thermie users :)
-
Yes, Yes, Yes, just waiting to get the TM to go with the second bowl!
-
Today I made yoghurt in one bowl then let it cool. While I made bread dough in the other bowl and left that to rise. I love having 2 bowls.
-
Wow . . . soon you'll need three! :-))
-
Wow . . . soon you'll need three! :-))
LOL :D :D
-
dont tempt her lol
-
3 :o. Oh the possibilitys.
-
I did yoghurtvand bread thecsamecday, it was a pain nky aving 1 bowl.
Frozzie hope you win the bowl.
Dede, now 3 would be even better :)
H
-
thx hally but i seriously doubt it...i rarely win anything...its gong to have to wait until later in the year...my xmas list though is getting quite big haha and oh so much to be done in the house...ill probably just get it at the end of the year but you guys are all driving me green with your bragging about two bowls lol...if I would have known I would have ordered two straight up :)
-
Snap Frozzie, just tell dh it was all inclusive....
Hally ;D
Too late for now
-
yeah I can get alot past him but think he would notice the second bowl lol
often he asks me when did I buy something ..I just say oh that was ages ago lol
-
Frozzie you and I have so much in common - that comment is so familiar. My standard response - I have had it for ages!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D
-
My standard response - I have had it for ages!!!!!!!!!
I have to admit . . . I do that too! :o :o
-
:) :) :) :) :)
that we do robyn...if only you had married a frog and lived in France!! ;)
-
I have had it for ages too. Let's just hope our other half don't get on here and read all this. They might learn all our secrets then.
-
no fear of that for me dede...i give DH all the passwords to everything and he never remembers anyway...leaves it all to me including banking etc lol
-
Same here Frozzie. My DH still can't work the computer out. I'm in total control of all banking and bill paying as he has no idea. I think my DS who is nearly 5 knows more about the computer than he does.
-
So I''m not the only one with a DH who isn't into computers, etc. I do all the money for us and he just leaves it to me - he refuses even a Visa card - says he would only lose it!
-
my DH knows how to use a computer he is around them all day and also at home but for some reason as soon as he comes in that door he doesnt cook, tidy up, manage to put things in a dirty wash basket lol or do anything on a computer except work or watch his series !!! he has a sweet side but also has an equal macho side lol oh and he also asks me to remind him of things he needs to do...told him last night to do like me and put an alarm on his phone agenda lol damn now he wants a secretary as well as a wife, nanny and cleaner lol...dream onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn honey! :P
-
So funny. I have no idea in our house at all. I go off to work and come home. When I want to buy something, magically money just seems to be available. Every month Ed tells me that we have to be careful and I am. Having lived in Germany now for almost two years, new International staff ask me about online banking and so on. I look at them red faced and have to tell them that I honestly have no idea. I have never done online banking in Germany. But I do have an Ed!!! He is our families treasurer. He likes to think he is the President too, hmmmmmmm!!!
xxx
;D
-
lol lee...guess there is one in every couple...shame on you :P
-
I guess we cant have both people in a couple doing the same thing, best to have one person in charge of somethings and another in charge of other things otherwise it would become a bit confusing. The only problem with this is if we are forced to do something we don't usually do for some reason or another we become stressed and frazzled very quickly.
-
for me my point was not doing it all the time but at least know how to do it lol...sometimes i seriously worry that if anything happened to me (heaven forbid) that DH would be lost...would not have a clue! :D
-
Once upon a time DH used to use the 'all you have to do is ask and I will do it (eg. - get washing form line, unpack dishwasher etc, etc.........)' comment until my retort became if I wanted to be around children forever I would have kept having babies. Mind you that statement has also bee delivered
through gritted teeth oops I meant lovingly to our 3 DDs on more than one occasion.
Now here is something to ponder!!!!!!!(http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores003.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores004.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores007.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores008.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores010.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores011.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-chores012.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
Now what was the topic of this thread again!!!!!!!! Guess who is now on hols for 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!

lol Robyn. Love the emoticons ;D

The creators of all these quirky things we love adding are so clever :)
-
Yes Robyn is on a beer fest for 2 weeks !!LOL
It comes from another thread :)

I have to say that in my relationship, I'm the geeky one... the one who likes gadgets and will only do certain things if I have a suitable appliance to do it. :P
My children have followed that and my 4 year old knows that it is possible to change my old Windows smart phone into an Android operating system and wants me to do so... now. :D
I can budget to within an inch of my life... and am often asked how I turn a low income into everything we need. Tenacity I say. ;)
That said, my other half is also gifted. Will use any gadget I suggest is needed and doesn't question my quirks. Somehow we've ended up with 2 Thermomixes AND 3 bowl and blades sets between them. :-)) Wouldn't part with ANY of them though! ;)
-
I must admit I love gadgets to, Probably not quiet as much as you by the sounds of it though lol
-
for me my point was not doing it all the time but at least know how to do it lol...sometimes i seriously worry that if anything happened to me (heaven forbid) that DH would be lost...would not have a clue! :D
Ladies PLEASE ensure that they can at least do the banking and bill paying, etc. My Dad has NEVER EVER done any of that and now with Mum not having long to go, tomorrow I have been nominated to spend the day with them both teaching Dad what he needs to know and sorting a whole heap of things out for Mum. Even if you still do it, just make sure they know how and what to do should they need to. ;)
-
Oh Kathryn :( I have been thinking of you lots since I saw you last. Big hugs! What a task.
I know when my grandie died my Narn didn't do any of the bills banking etc. She had to learn it all and my mum had to help her a lot with it.
-
oh kathryn...not a fun task as well as all the emotional stuff involved .. poor you :(
but re DH I have tried but I think he considers it my job and I have written everything down and Ill just keep harping and im sure he would be fine...he knows im freaky about keeping and filing everything lol so knows it would be just a matter of going through papers and folders and everything is well marked so ??? but its very frustrating...
-
My thoughts are with you at this sad time Kathryn. :-*
-
Kathryn, my thoughts are with you at this time. You are right, however, and it goes both ways. If anything needs to be done around the house, DH just does it and I, foolish as I am, let him. It's absolutely the worst thing you could do so I am going to have to take a hand in this and just start doing things myself as well as showing him how to do the things that I do.
-
Faffa really sorry to hear thst.
Great advice, my dad passed away when I was 21, dad did everything, so mum had to suddenly learn how to pay bills etc, on top f the grief itvwas all too hard. My dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly so no one saw itboming.
Sobreally good advice.
Big hugs
Hally :)
-
So sorry to read this Kathryn, my thoughts are with you and the family.
-
Oh Kathryn I am with you in thought at such a difficult time.
-
yes thoughts are with you...how horrible for you and your family.....at least you can plan and be together and say goodbye (precious time although very difficult).....hang in there kathryn :-* :-*
-
Sad news Kathryn, And its so hard when you have to stay strong for your Dad and help him out to come to terms with whats happening. Hope you got things sorted out smoothly. Thoughts are with you
-
Such sad news Kathryn. Sending prayers for you and your family.
-
Thank you everyone :-* :-* It has been a long day with a bleed scare along the way but we made it ;D Has been a very long 9 months but we will manage it just like everyone else that has to go through horrible things like this!
SO glad for this forum though as it is my "magazine" when I am sitting with Mum and she dozes off ;D ;D (hence all my "I am on my phone and can't link" posts :-)) :-)))
-
Kathryn, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
xxx
;D
-
kathryn, hang in there, as you have said we all go through it.This doesn't make it any easier.
-
A little birdy told me today that if you hold a varome demo in October you can get a second bowl and blade set for half price. That would be right if only I knew. Bugger.
Oh well for anyone wanting a second bowl October would be the time to get one.
-
Dede it is with any demo I was told, you just have to have three people there from different families - I am tempted
-
My consultant emailed me, yep demo no.4 happening here. Crazy ay!LOL
How could I say NO to that.
H ;D
-
It's a great offer Yvette & Hally - you have to go for it whilst you have the chance.
-
My consultant emailed me, yep demo no.4 happening here. Crazy ay!LOL
How could I say NO to that.
H ;D
What a great time to order yours Hally and you can tell your DH that you saved him some money :D :D
-
I think I will Judy just need to get a few people organised
-
I would definitely go for it if I didn't already have a second bowl. I think 3 bowls would be pushing it lol.
-
I would definitely go for it if I didn't already have a second bowl. I think 3 bowls would be pushing it lol.
Oh I don't know Dede,with your brood you certainly utilizes it :D :D :D
-
I know as its demo no. 4 it us getting harder to find people, but i will not give up,might get DH to dress up!!LOL, must sart googling costumes.......
Its going to be a rush we get home from hawaii sunday uts booked for thursdsy, story of mt liife, busy busy, busy.
H :)
-
Dede three bowls would be good just imagine how many meals you could have on the go at once
-
Yes that is true, But unfortunately with my brood I just cant afford to buy another one at the moment. And any way I am looking for a second hand fan forced oven at the moment and we are building the workshop (For my picture framing) So funds are stretched to the limit. If the promotion was a few weeks ago I could of either brought 2 for the price of one or had an extra $200 in my pocket toward an oven. Oh well cant have everything lol.
-
Its always the way dede...same when you get rid of something...then you need it or someone else does lol...oh well...we dont have that promo here so lucky oz!! Our promo is just another book...would prefer the bowl at half price!
-
I haven't had my varoma demo yet, but I was going to buy a dishwasher before I bought anything for Thermie! I'm not sure if I should get one, I'm trying to simply my life and be more organized, I'm already a bit 'all over the place' with this new gadget, trying so many things when really i should be planning and not being on this lovely forum so much :D
I'd actually really love a free book! Though I can see the benefits, I'm imaging I've got my porridge on the go, then building a smoothie in the new jug and putting it straight on, when the porridge is done rather than wash up blah blah blah.
Obviously DH would have to understand that these new jugs are free ;D
-
Viv, I couldn't see the point of having a second bowl for ages until one day I was doing something that made me think it could perhaps be useful. I didn't wait for a special price, I just ordered it and it was here lickety split. It has certainly come in handy quite a number of times and I don't have to do the cooking a lot of forum members do.
-
Oh Viv, I can understand where your coming from. I find i use my second bowl nearly as much as the first bowl. I quiet often prepare things in the second bowl while the first one is busy.
And of cause we won't tell if you don't about the free bowl lol. But on the other hand a new dishwasher would be great too. Oh the decisions.
-
Yikes, I think I'm going to be strong and stick to the one bowl. Still need a varoma demo though, and gosh that lovely demonstrator is so darn persuasive in the nicest possible way, and I'm so easily led, who knows what will happen. Last time I saw her she nearly convinced me to quit my day job to be a consultant!
A dishwasher would be more use at this point in my life, my old dishwasher (DH) keeps telling me to clean up as I cook and worse, starts cleaning up while I'm still cooking and complains I'm too messy.
-
I would definitly go for the dishwasher, they are much quieter than a DH and you can hide the mess in the dishwasher as you go.
-
I love my second bowl. I couldn't be without it now. :)
-
Same here - don't know why it took me 12mths to order it! :) :)
-
I've decided to go the 3rd bowl. it's the same price as a new set of blades if someone buys at my demo, so it's a cheap way to have spare parts on hand if i need them. I recently needed a new set of blades because the original ones weren't spinning, and i'm so glad I had the extra bowl to fall back on, so that's how I know how much the blades are. I also saw a tm video on youtube today where the chef used 3 bowls. That's my excuse.
-
love the speal trying to convince yourself thermoheaven lol
-
One really is not enough. I could have three easily and use them every day.
Xxx
;D
-
I still haven’t hade the need for a second bowl , i wonder why, i am always cooking
-
You are obviously more organised that moi!!!!! :D :D
-
i am sure if i was working i would need, not 2 but 3 bowls
-
:) Does anyone know how much a second bowl / blade set is.
Robyn
-
$395.00 Robyn, the deal this month for a simple demo is really too good to pass up! Especially if someone purchases from your demo ;)
-
:) I am really thinking about purchasing another complete thermomix.
Does anyone know if another newer model is comming out soon.
I just need to budget this in.
thanks,
Robyn :)
-
I want another tm...but another bowl is more realistic.
-
I would so love another thermomix but really cant justifty it.....maybe down the track when the kids eat more lol...
-
Obbie, no-one is going to tell us that otherwise sales would cease whilst people held off for the new model. I doubt even the consultants would be told.
-
when i asked my consultant this xhen i bought my thermie she told me that its no where near it...they bring out a model every 10 years on average...so who knows...saying that i think JD is right....it would be a well kept secret to all until it was time to release! :)
From this list it all depends sometimes ten years sometimes less...think that depends on whats available on teh market but with new models or copycats popping up everywhere they may not be far off to be able to keep control of their target audience..
1961 : VKM5
1971 : VM 2000
1977 : VM 220
1980 : TM 3000
1982 : TM 3300
1996: TM21
2004: TM31
:)
-
Interesting Frozzie, wonder why there was such a small gap between the TM3000 and the TM3300 - obviously something not right with that model.
-
no idea JD...might have a search on local forums to see what they say...thats where I found this list as vorwerk doesnt have it on their site at all...pity...interesting to know all the older models....I would say that some new gadget came out that they may have added into a newer model??? They really should have a history of the different models on their websites aroudn the world...
-
:) You can always ask. Thanks Judy.
Frozzie that's handy to know which year, which model came out.
i was thinking one for home, one for work.
Robyn
-
After tonight, I will not be buying a second bowl and blade but I will be buying a second Thermomix. Ed said that whatever money I make selling them, I can use to save up to buy my second one. Yippee!!! Woohoo!!! I was considering purchasing a second hand TM21 to make life easier as they are quite cheap here in Germany. But then I found out too that by trading in a TM21 in the UK saves you 200 pounds off the price of a TM31. Need to do the maths here to see which is faster.
xxx
;D
-
But then I found out too that by trading in a TM21 in the UK saves you 200 pounds off the price of a TM31. Need to do the maths here to see which is faster.
I think the trade in deal in the UK is only valid until 15 December so don't take too long to do your maths ;D ;D
-
Have booked in another demo for this weekend so I can get my second bowl and blade set at the reduced price - this thread has convinced me :D
-
You are a spoilt little puppy Lee - it does surprise me that 2 people would need 2 machines though, how much do you guys eat ???
-
I've only had my TM for 3 months but nearly everyday I've thought how handy a second bowl would be..... had a varoma party at the start of the month and ordered a second bowl. It arrived today. ;D
-
Well Judy it is not e quantity of the food that we eat but rather than quantity of the food we produce. It does all turn into lunches and is given to friends and colleagues and we entertain quite a bit. I do not need two machines at all but if I can earn it by selling, then I can justify it.... I think
Xxx
;D
-
Go for it Lee. The more you can cook, the more friends you can have over ;)
You won't be sorry Jude59 - I love the convenience of having 2 bowls.
-
I've got a varoma party booked in 2 weeks time, how can o resist a 2nd bowl at that price?
-
Don't resist,2nd best thing I bought.
-
I'm with Bedlam. ;)
-
I am so glad I got my second bowl, I am amazed how often I do use it. I have 2 lots of dough rising at the moment in the 2 bowls.
-
Nice to see you Dede
-
Thought I should show my real self mimus the walking stick lol.
-
Yes, much more flattering I think
-
yes far more flattering...lovley pic :)
-
Hi Mandi, you look so much younger ;)
-
Lol. Thanks guys.
-
Having had the luxury of two TMXs, I can certainly appreciate the purchase... but that does usually involve at least two of us in the kitchen at any given time. With eight children and two adults to feed it's almost compulsory! :D :D
That said, three bowls and two machines = breathing space! ;)
-
They just arrived, the doorbell went and I thought Whoose that and whats in this box
Great surprise
:D ;D
H :)
-
yay Hally, You are going to just love having 2 bowl.
-
Yes loving loving already, came this afternoon and have used the 2nd bowl twice today :)
H :)
-
I'm thinking of buying a second bowl and blade set and I know this month's offer is for a discounted one if you hold a demo but I've got no one to come to a demo and given it's the end of the month no chance of organising one anyway. I was looking on the TMX website and there isn't a place to order a new bowl, does anyone know if they ever have a special on the bowls without holding a demo or even if you can still buy one without holding a demo? i know I could ring them but I thought there would be someone on here who could help.
Thanks.
-
...that is exactly how I bought my 2nd bowl Wonder - rang head office! (http://www.cool-smileys.com/images/2094.gif) (http://www.cool-smileys.com/smiley-on-the-telephone)
-
Am so glad I have two bowls. Use both constantly, go for it.
-
...that is exactly how I bought my 2nd bowl Wonder - rang head office! (http://www.cool-smileys.com/images/2094.gif) (http://www.cool-smileys.com/smiley-on-the-telephone)
LOL Johnro - love the way you're laying it on the line to HO . . . ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Wonder, I've just had a demo to get my second bowl/blade set at 1/2 price.
My understanding is you can either buy the set at full price without a demo or half price with it.
I didn't initially think I would have anyone to invite, but ended up with 5.
I really didn't want to have a demo but it was a good night and the girls enjoyed it.
Now it's over, Im so pleased I had one, easier for me to part with $195 (I couldn't justify paying $395 on top of the TM price) and it was more a want than a need, but I know it will definitely get used as there have already been times when I would have made use of it.
Oh... something important I completely forgot to mention when posting this.....I only had a one on one demo when I got my TM (cos I don't like holding demos) but found out that I couldn't get my FREE thermoserver until I had a demo, so had been waiting since Dec for the bowl/blade set 1/2 price offer so I could take advantage of the offer plus get my freebie.....
I knew I wasn't prepared to pay full price for the bowl on top of the cost of the TM, may have changed my mind down the track?
March was quiet a challenge to organize a demo because here in Vic we had two long weekends for a start, then TM consultants were away in Hong Kong one another weekend, didn't leave many suitable dates plus my hubby unexpectedly ended up in hospital
needing surgery and to just finish it all off we were without electricity one Sat for more than 7 hrs due to scheduled maintenance in our area...phew thank goodness I wasn't able to pre arrange the demo that day or the weekend hubby was out of action.
Now, I am really looking forward to receiving my second bowl, kind of feels like Ive earn't it! :D
-
I am in the same position as you wonder. I cheekily asked my consultant if there was anyway she could wangle one, especially if a host doesn't take up the offer. But she is pushing for another demo, said she could see what she could do. Am not holding my breath.
-
You would think the consultants would be happy to just sell them rather than waste their time and money on a demo where no one is interested in buying. Not sure if I can justify the money with the amount I'm cooking at the moment even though I know t would be so handy.
-
Maybe you would use it more if you had two... :)
I cook a bit differently with two....I make bread dough and leave it in the bowl to prove whilst doing other things. I don't use them both every day, but they do allow some flexibility and speed when I'm doing a big cook up.
-
I'm the same as you Wonder, I would love to have a second bowl but can't justify the expense given I only use TMX once a fortnight at best. I don't have time to bake my own bread.
-
I love my second bowl, I am just one. But even just cooking for myself I have the second bowl in use quiet a lot.
-
I'm still using the TMX everyday at least once for y smoothies in the morning and I always wash it straight away but others in the family don't do the same. It would also be great when forgetting to grind or chop foods in advance, I definitely don't need one but think it would be very handy - basically like most purchases its a want not a need 😄😄
-
That's exactly how I feel Wonder :D
-
I would not get just get a second bowl. :)
Glad i have 2 thermy machines though.
-
I love my second bowl. Was not sure I needed it but now am very glad I have it!! :D
-
I haven't yet used my second one but it's nice to know it's there. But then I have only had my Thermione for five weeks tomorrow (not that I'm counting , you understand!)
How did I manage without it?
J
-
The special on reduced price bowl and blade sets for existing customers holding extra demos has been extended and still applies throughout April, in Australia.
-
I'm hanging out for mine to come. Been 2 weeks since I ordered!
-
If you want it, can afford it and have the room to store it, then go ahead and buy it. :D
-
....would not be w/out the 2nd bowl :)
-
The special on reduced price bowl and blade sets for existing customers holding extra demos has been extended and still applies throughout April, in Australia.
Thanks thats food for thought. Mmmm off to find some friends that aren't sick if my prattles about Thermomix ;)
-
I love 2 bowls. I always rise bread in my bowl :)
Coudnt be without 2.
I got mine on the 1/2 price demo.
H
-
Woo, mine came today :D
Is it meant to come with a spatula as well? Mine didn't, not that I mind. I only use it for salads and getting a full hot steaming basket out.
-
Having 2 bowls is great !! The spatula I'm sure doesn't come with the bowl - i think you need to order it separately ...
-
No, it is a separate cost.
-
Love my second bowl. DH paid full price for it as a gift. If you can get one for 1/2 price , go for it.
-
I think a high percentage of forum members own a second bowl.I do,love it.In the UK the second bowl is supplied with a spatula.Different countries different items included. :-\
-
I'm back to thinking I'll get a second bowl, I'm on a bit of spending frenzy at the moment so probably should just ring and get one. If there are any consultants that would like the sale let me know.
-
The 2nd bowl is a decision you'll never regret
-
Or even a 3rd :D
-
Do they ever have half price specials on bowls and blades? I don't wish to have another demo.
-
I would love a second bowl, where do you buy them from?
-
During the year they sometimes have half price specials but you need to have a demo, in past years I think this special was run around April. You can buy them by ringing head office.
-
Thanks Wonder. I will keep checking my newsletters.
-
I got my second bowl earlier this year and it came with blades, basket, butterfly and also a spatula which is very handy as I have chopped the first spatula up a bit.
-
a extra thermie is good too. ;D ;D
-
Wish I had one. Its just taken me for ever to chop herbs & spices & finely chop spring onions for my pork burgers!! not happy, miss thermoe so much & shes mot even been seen yet
-
That's really strange Hally. Has the problem just come about when you got the new bowl?
-
Yes, I bought it from a friend who bought it as a 2nd bowl 1/2 price etc. She has never used it. so there should be nothing wrong with it, both will have to go to HO I expect.
I emailed DH & said we need a 2nd machine, just waiting for WA to shake, lol.
Now how to convince him.......
-
hahahaha, good luck with that.
-
No need for thermie 2 now.
Thermie 1 works :)
-
Thank goodness you have a consultant close by. I don't have one so hope nothing ever goes wrong.
-
Yes she us really good. I have given her quite a few leads so she looks after me :)
-
Decided to just go ahead and get one. 5 - 7 day wait now for postage to Melbourne.
-
Great decision Wonder, you will love having the second bowl.
