Sorry everyone but this is so easy to make and tastes fantastic.
I know I know its another sweet unhealthy recipe from me (dede) But what can I say? I like converting easy recipes and sharing them. So here it is.
Butterscotch Self-Saucing Pudding:
Converted From Taste.com.au Source Michelle Southan
Ingredients
60g brown sugar
190g self raising flour
100g butter
1 egg
125g milk
2 Tbs golden syrup
Melt Butter in TM 2 min, 60C, speed 1.
Add rest of ingredients and mix 20 sec speed 4.
Pour mixture into well greased dish.
Combine 120g Brown sugar with 1 Tbs cornflour and sprinkle over pudding mix
then Add 2 Tbs of golden syrup to 1 1/2 Cups of boiling water and pour gently over Pudding.
Bake in oven 180 c for 40 to 45 min or until a skewer inserted in middle comes out clean.
Serve with cream or ice-cream (or both cause whats a few extra calories)

cookie1 - We had this a couple of nights ago dede and the leftovers last night. It is delicious and it stayed fresh too.
Hally - Oh Dede, this is really really nice, very rich but sooooo good. Hope it lasts a few days. I bought cream and ice-cream to go with it, but ice-cream is the best.
Twitterpated - it was beautiful. The taste far exceeds the amount of effort required to make it. Just for something really decadent, we had it with the salted caramel maple ice-cream.
Coops - Thanks for a great, easy recipe. Used honey instead of golden syrup as that was all I have in the pantry atm and it was a huge hit.
DJ - Made this tonight. Declared a hit by the family. Used 20 g less sugar in topping. Need thicker sauce, will add more cornflour next time.
Wonder - Made this as per the recipe for a quick dessert last night. It was very sweet but everyone ate it so I will declare it a hit although there were no comments. The topping was very light and moist and there was plenty of sauce. If you are a sweet tooth and like these flavours it's a great quick dessert.
Greyhoundmum - It makes a really big dish enough for about six I think. It is a lovely texture and is so quick to make.
tarasis - really enjoyed it. Two thumbs up.

Had this on sunday night for dinner (haven't posted for a few days) and it was beautiful. The taste far exceeds the amount of effort required to make it. just for something really decadent, we had it with the salted caramel maple icecream.

Glad you guys liked it. Made this again tonight and was a little distracted buy my little 1 year old nephew and placed the mixture into a shallow cake tin instead of my deeper pudding dish. I realized what I did when I put the boiling water in and it was right to the top. To late now. So I placed it on another tray in the oven to catch the overflow. But to my delight it only overflowed a tiny bit. And is scrumptious.

Made this tonight and I think it was even better cooked on the convection microwave than in my oven. The cake was so light and fluffy with heaps of butterscotch sauce. Yum very delicious but I'm glad we only have dessert once or twice a fortnight
-
hi all
What do you think about ading 50g of dates to mix??
-
Hi lynchman, I can't see a problem with adding dates. Bit of a mixture of sticky date pudding and butterscotch self saucing pudding.
Let us know how it goes.

made this for desert last night makes a really big dish enough for about six I think. None of my kids are home ATM so too bad I have to tuck into another bowl this evening. It is a lovely texture and is so quick to make .
-

Ingredients
60g brown sugar
190g self raising flour
100g butter
1 egg
125g milk
2 Tbs golden syrup
...
Combine 120g Brownsugar with 1 Tbs cornflour and sprinkle over pudding mix
then Add 2 Tbs of golden syrup to 1 1/2 Cups of boiling water and pour gently over Pudding.
Heh I'm the only one confused it seems :) In the ingredients the recipe mentions needing 60g brown sugar, then it uses 120g and then in the ingredient you mention 2tbs of golden syrup and then use two above.
So my questions are, you need 180g of brown sugar and 4tbs total of golden syrup?
-
Rob, the ingredients listed under ingredients are for the pudding itself.
120g brown sugar, 1 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp golden syrup and 1.5 cups boiling water are the ingredients to put over the pudding batter.
So yes, in total you need 180g brown sugar and 4 tbsp golden syrup :)
-
Cheers :)
Split ingredients like that have caught me out before when I though I had everything and had missed something that was in the steps, so figured it was best to ask first.
-
Wise man. ;)

Realized I never replied back, made this a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Two thumbs up.
