Title: Newbie - arrived on my birthday

After a demo I slept on the idea of getting one and couldn't get it out of my head. So with the July special of 2 thermo servers - I'm in. Then it arrived on my bday and I made my cake straight away. I love it.
I've never made a cake from scratch before and the Easy Choc Cake flew off the plate. And the butter- wow making my own butter is awesome.
I'm addicted.
Trying butter icing to go with my vanilla cupcakes. Yum

Welcome to the forum Jo.It sounds as though you are having fun cooking in your new TM, even if you had to make your own birthday cake. :)

Welcome, Jo.  What an brilliant birthday present (however accidental!).  Well done on making your own birthday cake first thing, as well as butter - busy and exciting days ahead for you now.  Happy birthday and enjoy your TMX adverture.

Hi Jo, welcome to the forum.  Straight off the mark, that's what we like to see.  The chocolate cake in the EDC is quite a small one, try this one  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1097.0) for size - it is a real winner on this forum.
To top it all off, here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6722.0) is a great frosting for cakes as well.
