Just made this soup and it is delicious ;D
Very wholesome and the texture is brilliant with the cooked pieces of cabbage stirred through the pureed soup. I will definately be adding this to my favourites to make again.

I haven't tried this one yet. Not that my kids like soup much but I love it, I will just make it and freeze portions so I can have it when ever I feel like it. Thanks for the review

We had this last night and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for telling us about it knittercook.

Looking at this recipe girls, it calls for 1 can of red kidney beans but then says the drained weight should be 540 g. I think I have only seen them in 400g cans so this obviously means you need 2 cans - is that what you both used? Also does this recipe really serve 8 people?

I know this is a dumb question, what is MWOC?

Good question JD.
Thanks for the review knittercook. I have cabbage and leeks in the garden so will give this a go for lunch tomorrow. :)
-
Judy I only used 1 can and the soup was lovely, not over powered by the kidney beans.

Thanks Cookie.

I finally got around to making this for lunch today. We really loved it! It is very hearty and full of flavour. Thanks for reviewing it knittercook as I would never had tried it otherwise. :)

I used one tin of kidney beans.
I didn't think all the hand chopping was necessary as the soup was going to be pureed in the end. I chopped the bacon in with the onion and leek and then after the saute I added the quartered carrots and turnip into the bowl and chopped them up too before adding the other ingredients.
