Hi,
Got my thermomix yesterday and made the anzac biscuits today. They were too sweet for my liking (and i have quite a sweet tooth) and didn't have enough oats, so will try to adjust the recipe next time. They spread a lot during bakign so try to leave lots of room between the biscuits otherwise they meld into one giant one. Nice and chewy though!

opps, should probably move this to the recipe review section. Sorry, new at this!
-
I agree Chocymoose, they are a bit sweet. I'm working on cutting back the sugar level. I've made these a couple of times now, and they always seem to disappear very quickly. I find they are definitely not as 'chunky' in texture as non-TMX anzacs, but they are SO quick to make.
-
All moved chocymoose.. Thanks for the reviews. Quite a few of us have found that the amount of sugar needs reducing in EDC recipes. I'm glad your TMX is going well.
-
I guess thats the great thing about making everything our selves as we can modify and change the ingredients to suit our tastes/needs. I do love my TM. I have made these anzacs and also found them too sweet but they still don't last long.
-
That's the first biscuit recipe my youngest son made in the TMX and we've adjusted the quantities : 50g Golden Syrup and 40g brown sugar are enough for us. I usually reduce the sugar content of most recipes...
-
I'm used to working with a Kitchen Aid, so found it a bit difficult grabbing the dough from a TM bowl, with the blades (that's my issue though, not the recipe). Next time, I'll tip the dough into a bowl. Other than that, a fantastic Anzac cookie : )

I always tip biscuit dough into a bowl ITK, it makes things so much easier and quicker.

Do you think you could do a double batch of these?
-
I haven't done so CGL, this recipes made 29 biscuits for me and that is plenty for us. Someone may have though so hang tight and see if you get an answer.
-
I must be making mine too big! Got about 15 out of the batch! ;D

That is one of the main complaints I have with recipe books - why don't they tell us how many biscuits >:( The cooking time often depends on the size of the biscuit as well so we need to know these things.

Hi JD was just about to make Anzacs from EDC and first thought was. How many does it make? Important factor that is left out over again in the book. tahnk goodness the forum is always here to fill in the gaps.

Stocking up the freezer, the house is so tidy with just the two of us her so minimal housework.

Made this recipe for the first time this yea, from the old EDCr. I'll be interested to see if it has been tweaked in the new one.
Biscuits were super-easy and popular but now that I've seen other general comments about sugar will mark the recipe to change proportions next time.

Made these yesterday. 50g golden syrup, 40g sugar but increased coconut to 90g as I wanted to finish it off.
Mixture seemed a but dry so I added another 20g of golden syrup. Not sure how the mixture is supposed to look like though.
Biscuits came out crunchy and yum. Is that how it's meant to be?

They look good to me BZB, I like my biscuits crunchy but some people prefer them softer.
