Post by: joynatalie on June 21, 2011, 10:34:13 am

Here is a recipe and it has ideas for its use: Meaganjane's CWA recipe (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2578.0)

You can use it as a butter substitute on scones, pikelets, etc. or to fill small lemon tarts, etc.

The lemon butter can be used in this recipe  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2421.0) of Chookies joynatalie.

I think it could also be used to replace the filling in this recipe  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2475.0) of hers too.  Correct me if I am wrong please Chookie.

Thanks JD and Chookie for those two recipes, I've just copied them and they both look delicious - how come I am so attracted to those recipes that add to my already "traditional" shape (to quote Alexander McCall Smith - for those who don't know him, his books are great.  This reference is from his No. 1 Detective Agency series).

Sorry, got a bit side-tracked there.

I make a Lemon Spread,  which is also known as Lemon Butter,  however there is NO butter in the recipe I use.  (much better for the Traditional figure)   I have just made a double lot ,  for as Judy has pointed out,  I use it in these 2 cakes.  If you use my recipe, follow the weight measurement so as to get a nice strong tang.  The Lemon Feather Cake is so easy,  but is a special event cake.  The Belgium lemon cake can be used as a dessert or as a cake.  Some people don't like my recipe as it contains Custard Powder.
I feel that the butter would add more to this Traditional Figure.
