Title: Rice Bread
Post by: Molly on June 17, 2011, 10:08:35 am
I heard for the first time today, of something called Rice Bread.  Apparently, it's like this:  http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/1075/brown-rice-bread-loaf.aspx

Can you tell me if there's something like that here or how would I go about doing htis one in the tmx?

Thanks!!!

There is this recipe, Rice Flour Daisy Bread (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3799.15)  but not totally rice flour.
Hope this helps  :)

Thanks,  but no.  That's rice flour,  whereas the one I'm talking about uses cooked brown rice!!  Bizarre.

Yes, it does , doesn't it.  My firend buys it from the health food shop and I thought SURELY I COULD MAKE IT!!   :-))  I may be being a bit adventurous though.  :)

Although I have never made a sprouted grain loaf, would the bread you are looking for be somewhat similar?  It may be easier to find a sprouted grain loaf recipe than the rice one you are looking for.

Chookie might have one in one of her many bread books if you can wait until she gets home and gets over her jet lag  ;D ;D

I would have a go at the recipe in the link above.

Just cook the rice and use the ingredients and amounts in that recipe and knead for about 2 minutes before rising, punching down and putting it in your tin to rise again.  ;)

The bread maker would mash up the rice as much if not more than the TMX will as the bread makers kneads for ages. Have a go!!

Oh my goodness!

It's delicious!!!!!!

But, hey.  I'm not much of one for making bread,  so any homemade stuff is great!  :)

I can't give times etc...  except to say that I changed one nappy, wiped one bum, changed another nappy, made lunch and breastfed a bub while I was making it....  so times are out the window.   I had no idea how long to let it rise,  how long to cook it???  Somehow it worked though???

Next time I'll write it all down and share.

Molly, for someone who had no idea what she was doing, it sounded like you did really well. :D :D  Will look forward to specific times and details when you get around to it as I have no baby's nappy to change or breastfeeding duties anymore. Can you see the rice grains in the bread or do they get blitzed during the kneading process?

I may just have to try this I have two little timers of my own so would work nicely between the nappy changes, fight referree'ing and trying to prevent total destruction of my house!
