Title: Gluten-free bread
Post by: jkmt on June 06, 2011, 03:09:24 am
Hi Everyone,
I have visitors coming this weekend, and need to make gluten and lactose free bread for one of them (or something that can substitute for bread!). Does anyone have a good gluten-free recipe I can try?
Thanks,
Jenny

Give Cyndi's GF bread a go. http://www.ukthermomix.com/recshow.php?rec_id=102

Thanks MKR. That looks quite do-able - not too many hard to find ingredients. Also, I hadn't seen the UK website. Looks like it has some nice recipes.

If you want a gf df pizza bread, here's my recipe (http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com/2011/01/gluten-free-pizza-base.html) - it's really yummy! :)

My favourite gf bread is gf artisan bread... it works so well, and the bread can even bend without breaking - woo hoo!!! It's a bit more planning ahead, but it's really easy to make. :)

Does anyone know what I can sub for millet/quinoa in the CO'M recipe as I don't have any in the cupboard?  Would buckwheat or besan work?  Would like to use what I have rather than buy more stuff.

Also is xanthum gum interchangeable with guar gum?
