Finally there is an English version of RoboGourmet app for iphones/ipads. I just downloaded it. Looks to have quiet a few recipes and all especially for the Thermomix. Cost $4.99
So if you have an iPhone or iPad would be well worth downloading
(More recipes for me to try)
-
I got an email from the guy that developed it, but I'm happy really just using my laptop in the kitchen if I need to.
I don't pay more than $1.19 for any of my iPhone apps.
Let us know what you think and whether it's worthwhile.
-
I have had a good look at this app and am quiet impressed with the recipes. There are alot of recipes that I would make with ingredients that are fairly easy to come by. There are a few recipes for gluten free and healthier options. Would be great to have photos included ( maybe and update in the future)
Not a bad app and $4.99 is a cheap recipe book. I noticed a few forum members recipes have been used on this app as well. I look forward to updates and new recipes.
Worth a look is my personal opinion.
I would be interested to hear what other people think as well.
-
apparently quite a few of mine are on there without any acknowledgement. he did contact me and said my blog was on there, but i assumed it was just a link.
just editing to say that apparently recipes do hav ea blog link on the bottom of them. sorry for any confusion (i haven't seen it myself, was going on third hand feedback lol)
-
I have come across quiet a few of Quirky cooking recipes, havnt seen any of yours yet brazen (with your blog link) I am still going through them though
-
will have to check this one out :)
-
In reference to the SPINACH & POTATO BAKE - there is something drastically wrong with the quantities here.
I thought I'd try this one as a side dish but it ended up like soup. I was wondering perhaps if they mean 1000g of potatoes and not 100g? The amount of liquid had been questioned by another forum member when she sent me this recipe (knowing I like spinach and potatoes) but I thought I would give it a go, against my better judgement, and hoped it would work out.
I didn't bother with the final stage of baking it in the oven - why would you bake a soup :-)) :-)) but decided if it was going to be a soup I might as well add a few more ingredients. Steamed some diced chicken breast, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms and celery, added them to the original mixture along with a tablespoon of vegie stock concentrate. Can't say that improved things much though but I will soldier on and eat it rather than waste it.
-
Hi Judy, i have a message for you about it :) (i have told monica she should join up herself ;))
Hi Karen,
I just noted that there were some comment on the Thermomix form you moderate regarding the Spinach and Potatot Bake. I didn't want to post personally but perhaps you could pass on the message:
We apologise that there are a few errors on the current version of Robotgourmet which include:
1) Potato and Spinach Bake (ingredient list should read 1000g potato, not 100g)
2) Hame and Pea Soup (200g split peas not 50g)
We are working hard to correct errors and constantly update content with new recipes. We aim to release new recipes every few weeks. We thankyou for the feedback and apologise for any inconvenience.
regards,
Monica
-
Thanks Karen. Do we know Monica? It's not the Monica as in GL in SA is it?
-
That's good to know, Cant expect every thing not to have some mistakes. I received an update recently adding an extra 50 recipes to the list. If I brought a recipe book I don't get updates and extra recipes. Not a bad buy and I can email the recipes to myself to print them out if I need too.
-
I justSplurged on this it's the most I've ever spent on an app! I like that it stops the screen turning off that really drives me nuts as I always use iPhone when making stuff off the forum! The format seems good and easy to use! I'm just marking the ones I want to try, fetta & spinach muffins don't seem to have spinach in them though!
-
I did the sweet and spicy Moroccan lamb the other night, and it was quite tasty.
-
RoboGourmet seem to be keeping an eye on comments made on this forum so any anomalies in recipes could be noted in this thread and get their attention pretty quickly I'd say. I liked Karen's suggestion to them that they join the forum - that way they could comment themselves instead of going through a third party.
-
Good idea Judydawn,
Definitely would be a benefit to have many eyes helping with editing and suggestions.
Great App by the way Monica ;D
-
I've heard a lot of people say they think it's worth buying... I've only had a quick look as I don't have an iphone, just this Android tab. If you want to ask questions/make suggestions, there is a RoboGourmet fb page.
-
It's just a shame it wasn't properly edited or the recipes tested before it was released. A for profit app should not be relying on the goodwill of a forum (especially when they are not participating in the forum) to do their recipe testing and editing.
-
You are right there Salome. Best get onto their FB site instead then.
-
Hi all - I am Monica from Robogourmet - thanks for the invitation to participate in this forum. I am a fairly recent addition to the TMX team (I bought mine last November and am just in the process of completing my consultant's course). Anyway, I want to thank you for the feedback on the app so far and cover off a couple of issues raised here;
1) The reason I have not participated to date is that I did not want to breach (or be perceived to breach) any commercial rules of the forum. As such, I was simply trying to be a "polite" member of the community. I do thank you for welcoming me ;)
2) We acknowledge that there are some errors in the app and we are very grateful for your feedback. This is one of the things I particularly love about TMX - that it has fostered such an amazing, knowledgeable and sharing community of people.
However, we have no intentiion of relying on this forum - or any of our other customers - to do our work for us. We are currently adjusting recipes to correct any issues that have arisen as well as writing new recipes and testing as many as we can. We have also received recipes from around the world for inclusion in the next version. This is a time consuming process but we are certainly committed to constantly improving and expanding the app. We aim to roll out 50 new recipes again at the end of this month and this will be an ongoing process.
My Italian partners and I all got involved in this app because we are passionate TMX owners and foodies - as I am sure most of you can relate. Sure, it is great if we can earn a few bucks out of it, but ultimately we wanted a tool that was valuable to us - and that spawned its public release.
Even if we didn't sell another one, I would keep adding to it so I had a compilation of all my favourite recipes. It is for this reason that we encourage people to contibute and share their love for food and TMX as well.
Thanks guys and I look forward to"chatting" with you more.
-
OK, I'm convinced now, I'll buy the app.
Thanks for your input here Monica, now that I understand that your passionate about food and cooking (and the Thermomix), I'm happy to pay more than I normally would for an app.
I think the fact that there's 50 new recipes a month is also a great incentive.
-
Monica, Welcome :) will we be getting some of those wonderful Italian recipes over time that are on their forums etc. I see some of the pics and drool, just not able to translate them :-))
I think if the recipes are somehow linked to blogs etc then people would appreciate that ... I realise that this could take some time too :)
-
Hi Monica and Welcome.
I think the app is great. Keep up the great work ;D
-
Thanks guys - feeling the love!

Faffa - the answer is yes, just takes a while as I have to try to "translate" some of the ingredients as well as the language.
-
Hi Monica, welcome to the forum. Nice to hear a bit about the background of this ap - unfortunately I don't have the equipment to partake in it.
-
Hi Monica, are the developers looking at a "bigger" version to view on the iPad better? Going to 2x goes blurry and gives me a headache, and in iPhone size I cant read it lol!!!
-
Hi - yes we are looking at ipad. Will get back to you as soon as we have a plan.
-
Hi all - just wanted to let you know that I have spent the past week or so editing the database and adding 50 new recipes so you will all see an updated version of in a couple of weeks (once it is approved by itunes). Thanks to all of you who pointed out errors/omissions.
We are also working on getting photos together for all of the recipes so if any of you are a dab hand with a camera - and would like to have your pics published - please send them through! This will take a while so this feature won't be released for a couple of months but we are taking all of the feedback onboard and working hard to constantly improve!
-
Wow Monica that sound great. Am looking forward to the new updates in the future. This App is only going to get better.

Thanks for the info Monica!! I didn't realize you were becoming a consultant - cool! Hope it goes well for you :)
-
Hi Peleep -
can you give us a heads up on the index of what's new so we can get a taste of things to come?
Tee hee - that's a bit cheeky ;) but ... oh ok you twisted my arm! Firstly and foremostly we have corrected some of the errors mentioned by users (sorry and thanks!) and we are adding the following recipes:
- Raspberry Cream Cheese Brownies
- Lentils in White White, Herbs and Tomatoes
- Chocolate Custard (with real chocolate!)
- Candied Popcorn and Macadamias (yummmmm)
- Blancmange
- Italian Potato Cake (savoury) and;
- Chocolate and Port Pudding Cake!
among others ... we are also looking at ways to automate photo uploads so not for this edition but hopefully we can get it up and running soon for future updates!
-
Yum Yum Yum!! Looking forward to browsing (and munching) on those new recipes ;)
-
The feta and spinach muffins (under snacks) - anyone know how much spinach is recommended? I was thinking around 60g?? It's not in the ingredients list, lol.
-
Hi all - just letting you know that the updated version is now out (1.2) which includes all the corrections suggested here and more. We have also addede 30 more recipes and are continuing to develop more! Thanks for your support.

I have this app for a little while and find it very handy. I had someone phone me the other for a recipe and I didn't have any of my books on me. Pulled up the app and there it was a similar recipe that I could share with them over the phone.
-
Monica, any chance this app will be developed for android phones as well? I'm definitely interested in buying it but don't have an iphone/ipad.
-
Hi all - just a brief note to let you all know that we have just sent off another update to itunes for the RoboGourmet app. We are now at 400 recipes! We are also continuing to refine/correct any errors and thank you all for your feedback to date!
New recipes include:
- Chicken and Pumpkin Couscous
- Turkish Delight (which I will also post in the recipe section here as I know some were looking for one)
- Chocolate Truffles
- Quinoa Gumbo
- White Bean Salad
- Tomato and Capsiucm Salsa
- Choc-Hazelnut Spread
The updates are FREE to download if you already have the app - just check your device for updates on the App Store and download. Thanks for all your support this year and Merry Xmas!
-
Hi Monica,
For the salmon and ricotta mousse recipe under snacks and light meals you still haven't specified how much salmon to use- also, is it smoked salmon or tinned salmon?
Otherwise, congratulations on a great app. I use it a lot but I'm glad to see you are gradually getting rid of all of the errors and keep up the great recipe updates each month!!!!!
-
I bought this very soon after it came out. I have the iPhone version but on my iPad. Now that the iPad version is also available now, does it differ much? Is it worth me upgrading and, since I already bought the iPhone version, could I get a discount :o
Nik xxx
P.s. I really like it ;D
-
Monica, I really like this App and use it quite often. However when one of the recipes that I have created is printed without acknowledgement i feel miffed. The 'two Second Salad" is an example of this. You can either acknowledge it as Chookie, or achookwoman, or Elizabeth.
-
I think it's pretty rude to use other people's recipes without permission too. I would love a tmx iPad app but won't be purchasing this one for that reason.
-
Hi all - sorry it has taken me a while to get back on here - I was away for the holidays! Wishing you all the best for the New year.
Now to answer the above queries:
1) As for the salmon mousse - the amount of salmon is 200gm smoked salmon. This has now been corrected on the current version - thanks for pointing it out.
2) Chookwoman - apologies if an original recipe has been published without acknowledgement. Many of the recipes we have been publishing in the updates have been sent in by readers/users and gleaned from the www. Where it is obviously an original recipe (from a blog etc), then we try to attribute to the original writer, the problem is often identifying "original recipes" in an age where there are literally millions of versions of things. And in many cases we have applied the "10%" rule - that is, if we have altered the recipe after trialling it, then it is no longer the original. We have indeed contacted bloggers and gained their permission to publish with attribution - several of quirkyjo's and brazen's recipes are on there. And other bloggers have asked their content not be published - fair enough too. If you could kindly send me the original link to the recipe, I will happily attribute it (with a link) or if you prefer we will remove it.
3) Ipad vs iPhone version - if you are happy with the way the iphone version presents on your ipad then there is no need to buy the other version. The ipad version is simply a larger format so that it appears better on the ipad screen.
Thanks to all of you for your feedback and questions. A while ago I said that we had only developed this app because of our own passion for the TMX and cooking so, while we acknowledge it may not be as slick as a "professional" app, we are committed to making it better all the time, with more recipes, corrections and updates happening about every month.
And thanks to many of the comments received - we have also decided to include images in the next release so look out for that one! We are aiming to hit 1000 recipes this year so keep them coming in as well - if you have favourites you want included, let us know (and also let us know if it needs to be attributed to your fave blogger). :)
-
Wow 1000 recipes. Now that I look forward too. Can't wait to see photos as well. It's a great app and I use it often when cooking. Thanks for the update on what's happening Monica.
I have a handful of converted recipes I have placed on here that I am more than happy for you to use so others can benefit from converted recipes for their TM. I have stated where the original recipe has come from where I can.
Keep up the good work
-

Carrie,, don't be put of by my comment. as you can see Monica has responded. It is probably my fav. App. , and I have a lot. When I work out how to do the link, I will do as Monica has requested.
Monica, I really do appreciate your response. Thank you.
-
I have missed all this discussion. I was away and obviously didn't feel it needed to be read at the time. Now I have a share in an ipad I will have to buy the app.
-
Well I have been very brave and for me clever. I have just downloaded this onto my ipad. (well my 1/3 share). It comes up as iphone size is this correct please clever people? Or have I done something wrong. Thanks.
-
Click the little 2x in the bottom right corner.
-

Thanks Dede - I will look out for them.
Cheers,
Monica.
-
there is also a specific ipad app for robogourmet. If you have the iphone version you have to click the 2x button to view it better on your ipad. As I don't like the resolution of the iphone app on the ipad I actually have the robogourmet app specifically for the ipad as well as a separate one for the iphone.
-
Hi Monica,
If we purchase the recipes now to we have to buy the updates or will they all be included in the price for all the recipes that some of us are purchasing now?
Thanks :D
-
Thanks all.
-
I have had this app since it first come out and there has been a few updates and its always been free.
-
Every time iPad or iPhone apps are updated it is free, you only pay for the app once ie initially.
-
Hey all - did you see the Thermomix app under the article "Our Top 25 Food Apps" in the Good Living section of Tuesday's Sydney Morning Herald? Robotgourmet got a little mention too, yay!
-
Ahh, I didn't realise their was a specific iPad one! Downloading it as I type.
Congrats Monica on the article in the SMH. Well done!
-
Monica, in the Melb. Age also. Congrats.
-
Downloaded this today. Lots of recipes. Only downfall is no photos.
-
DG apparently there is an update coming with photos and more recipes. I'm waiting in anticipation for the update :)
-
my Curried Sausages recipe is included with out acknowledgement. I emailed a couple of months ago but haven't heard anything. Must email again. Have no problems with it being used like everyone else just some recognition is nice ;) (especially after that other app debacle as well!!)
-
Maybe in the next update Faffa (hopefully) have not heard from Monica for awhile though. :(
Where are you Monica ?
-
Oooohhhhh can't wait for photos. Do u know if u can copy the recipe? I want to add so ego paprika so I can menu plan
-
You can email or print them. Not sure about direct copy though.
I will normally set it up as if I was emailing the recipe but actually copy the email format and paste into what ever program I want (I use My recipe book app) then just delete the draft.
(does that make scenes ?)
-
Yes but how do I email it?
-
Hold on, I will check it out.
BRB
-
Ok I'm back.
If you open a recipe you want to copy right down the bottom on the right is a little envelope. Just click on that.
Hope that helps.
-
No envelope on mine. Grrrrrrrrr :@(
-
Oh and you can directly copy from the recipe (by holding your finger down for a second until the option of copy comes up) then paste (hopefully) into your recipe app.
-
Are you on a iPhone or iPad?
-
My instructions are for iPad.
For iPhone there is a square icon up the top right for emailing.
-
Must go back to this app. I haven't used it for a while.
Let me know how you go copying to Paprika DG
-
Woohoo I could copy and paste by holding finger down in recipe. Thanks Dede you are a gem xxxx
My iPad thanks u too
-
That's great DG, glad it worked :)
-
Good to know. I also use paprika for my recipes!
