;) Hi, I have just been given lots of fresh ginger, also a ginger plant.
Any ideas on what to do with it, store it.
thanks,

Read this (http://www.finecooking.com/articles/storing-ginger.aspx) obbie, an interesting experiment. The ginger beer recipe in the EDC uses quite a lot of ginger so you could use it up that way - probably not something the kids would enjoy though.

Andie's Candied Ginger (http://www.asenjigalblogs.com/resurrected-recipes-from-long-ago/candied-or-crystallized-ginger/)?? ;)

I planted several pieces of ginger around Christmas. They are all up and looking reasonable. I do hope we get some ginger. We have a pinapple at the moment with another one coming.

You are so patient!!! It takes about 2 years for pinapple!! :o

i dont know if its the same recipe but there is an aussie recipe for ginger beer in the new worldwide thermomix book in french and as there was so much ginger in it and the french dont like spiced foods much they halved the ginger in it and it was quite nice...even DD who is 2 drank it and wanted more so good idea JD even for the kids if you just cut back on the ginger obbie :)
