Would any one out there ever tried making limincello with limes and not lemons??? I thought that I might give it a go because our lime tree is just chockers. To make it with lemons all you do is soak the peel in vodka for a week, giving it a shake every day so I can`t see any reason for it not working with limes. So any one who has any thoughts on the matter I would like to hear what you think about the idea. Thanks Sandy

i will just post it JD ;)
any question i will be more than happy to answer
Sambucca
400 mls water
1cup of sugar (original recipe just over a cup)
½ a bottle of queens aniseed essence or sambucca essence from the Italian deli
use the whole bottle
300mls of pure alcohol
makes about 850mls
1. Dissolve sugar in boiled hot water (not hot water from the tap)
2. When water is cold add ½ a bottle of queens aniseed essence or sambucca essence
3. add mixture to 300mls of pure alcohol and stir
Don’t add essence to alcohol it will became very cloudy if you do
From the Italian deli you can find many flavors
I use the same method for all of sweet liquors
Last week I made dry Scotch with no sugar very good for mixers
I can get pure alcohol for $21.00 for 1.25 liters it will make 4 liters of sambucca depending on the strength you like
I make it for my son restaurant and we like it full strength
2 for me 1 for our patrons
If to strong add more water the next
ciao

Thanks for the recipe.
I remember making a variety of alcoholic drinks using the cake liqueurs from Italian deli's years ago.
