Title: New kid on the block.
Post by: TroubZ on March 16, 2011, 03:12:30 am
Hi Everyone,

Here's a quick snapshot;
I live in Melbourne, Australia
Just joined the forums.
Just bought a Thermomix a week ago.

We bought it in a attempt to ensure we eat healthier with less additives.
One of our ids gets severely effected by preservatives / colours / flavours.

I'm sure you know how it goes... don't go to the shop and buy dip when you can make your own in all of a few minutes.
Know exactly what went into it - and what didn't!
Save on time, save on fuel - eat fresher / better.

I feel / sound like a "Born again...",
Preaching to everyone how abour awesome the ThermoMix is and how I don;t know how I managed to do things without it...

I hope to learn a lot while I am here and share any good things we manage to find out for ourselves!
I'm sure I'll catch-up with you all in amongst the messages....

Welcome TroubZ.
It sounds as if you are already going strong.
I don't use my TMX as much as many on this forum but I have found it to be essential in many ways.

Today I made a batch of cultured butter  and a batch of marzipan that will go into filling some little brioche rolls.
Tomorrow = the brioche.

Welcome troubz - yes the TM is wonderful and it is very hard to not talk about how wonderful it is. We hope you find this forum helpful and inspiring. We also look forward to trying out any converted recipes once you settle in  :) Here are some helpful hints (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=578.0) when first starting out.

Hi TroubZ, welcome to the forum. You sound as if you have had your TMX a lot longer than a week  :D :D, glad to see you are so pleased with it.  Enjoy your time on here.

Thank-you everyone....

If my wife had her way - we would have one about a year ago after she went to a demonstraton at a friends place.
She came home convinced we needed one.
I wasn't so sure and couldn't possibly see how such an expensive piece of kitchen equipment was going to be abe to do all the things my wife was certain that it could do.

A fortnight ago - I happened to be working from home for the day when the same friend said she was having another demonsration at her place - this time a veroma demonstration.

It sounds a little condenscending, but I went along more to keep my wife happy than having a real interest myself.
Well it didn't take long to change my mind, really.

We had 8 dishes for 10 people in just a little over two hours.
(Granted, the demonstrator had already cut into pieces te required ingredinents - which made it seem "much" quicker, but none the less...)

I was hooked.
The food was delicious.
You could taste the individual ingredients that went into the dishes, it was truly amazing.

Needless to say, a week later (last week) we had one of our own!!!

 ;D ;D  Oh how I smile when I read that it was a DH that decided to invest in the TMX after initially being sceptical or disinterested. My DH was exactly the same. Never said I couldn't buy it but was disinterested until I had a demo at home (happened to time it when he was home recuperating from surgery  ;)) and he was the one who ordered it for me.
Welcome TroubZ. Hope you continue to be inspired by you TMX

Welcome to this forum and the TMX journey, troubZ.  The introduction to TMX and first experiences are all so similar.  I hope that you continue to enjoy this kitchen wonder as all on this forum have since investing in what most initially believed to be a very expensive gadget.  Cheers  :)
