Just seen TH31 being used on Iron Chef Australia in the UK on Good Food
-
it's often on the cooking shows here. :) It's a game in our family now to see who can spot it first!

Excellent idea, we don't see them too much but we are looking out for them. ;D
-
I think I read somewhere that they may be appearing on this new series of Masterchef, but I could have been dreaming....
-
I'm sure they will as they have been on there before. We're a bit like you faffa as we 'Thermomix' spot.
-
Sorry Cookie, I meant the UK version of the programme. I don't think they've used TMXs on that one before
-
Rash assumption on my part. I hope they do, more exposure and recipes.
-
Which episode was that, Mindmapper? Tmx was on a few of them - I loved watching the one with Matt Stone from the Greenhouse vs Neil Perry - I think Matt should've won!! It was so cool getting to go to his restaurant the other week, and when we walked in they were using the Thermomix!! ;D So cool! (You can see into the kitchen and watch them cook.)
-
just seen two TM31 in master chef pro kitchen on BBC 1 this evening. shame they weren't being used.
-
Just went to the Adelaide Easter class with chef Judyta Slupnicki who was on Australian Iron Chef. Apparently when asked to go on she checked they would have a thermomix available first-could have been her!
-
Saw thermomix on French TV on saturday. They were explaining what it was to be a demonstrator, what we could earn by being one and how the demonstrator could become a manager...
I got two or three calls in few minutes just to tell me it was on TV. At first everyone said I was crazy to buy the TM because it was way too expensive but now everyone looks for informations about it ;)
-
First episode of Masterchef last night, and I spied a shelf of Thermomix's in the background! There were maybe 6 or so, on the bottom shelf of the stuff they have that the contestants can use.
-
Ooooh, how cool!!!! 8)
-
The UK Masterchef has just finished and one of the finalists was using a Thermomix in quite a few of the rounds but it wasn't commented on at all.
I would recommend this series, especially as it gets closer to the final. The final 3 were amazing but I won't give away who won ;D
-
Sara was the avid user of the TM but only in the last stages, Tim used it once but they were never mentioned because of advertising issues on the BBC.
-
Has anyone seen it it on a kids cooking show in the afternoons?? Has it been mentioned on here? I can't remember it being mentioned in any news letters from HO but it is used and then mentioned in the credits as a sponsor??
-
I haven't seen it, but I was chatting with a friend in Perth yesterday, and he said he saw the tm on tv.
-
Just found the name of it - "kitchen whizz" channel 9, 4pm weekdays hosted by Beau Walker.
-
LOL. To name it after the Breville kitchen whiz and have the tm on it!
-
Just for the record, there was a big Thermomix plug on Millionaire Hotseat in Australia on Friday 12 Aug, with Eddie McGuire disclosing his love for Thermomix porridge!
-
TM31 in the BBC Good Food Magazine Feb 2012 as one of a chef favourites in his kitchen.
-
Spotted a TMX in the kitchen of River Cottage over Christmas - they were using it to mince up wild boar :o
-
I've often seen it in River Cottage.
-
I love TMX sporting and often look ar the real estate for sale ads to see who in Cairns has one on their benchtop! Gosh i have an exciting life. LOL!
Gretch
-
We do that too Gretchen. We watch 'Escape to the Country' and look for TMX in the homes they show.
-
Are we Pathetic cookie???????
Gert
-
Yes no, it is quite normal girls. ;)
-
How sad are we?
Gert
-
Must agree Gretchen. If people could see us saying 'hey did you see that TMX on the shelf?' with the rest of us going where where?
-
Tonight it's all about the thermomix on channel 7 Today Tonight 6.30pm in Perth. Not sure about other states :)
-
Is that today wednesday or yesterday tuesday ???
H :)
-
Today Wednesday.
-
Good. I must stop DH from playing with the remote. He's lethal with it.
-
Bugger we don't get Today Tonight here :(

Was a great story!!

-
It was a good story. Grace basically did a quick demostration. I had 2 texts from friends during it telling me it was on. I wonder if TMX enquiries have gone up today?
-
Hi everyone!
What fun to have Thermomix so well represented in the news on TV like this. There is such momentum in Australia right now, I can feel it from here :o ;D
Just wanted to say to Cookie1 that yes, there is NO DOUBT Thermomix inquiries have gone up today because as the show was airing there was a big rush of traffic to my blog from WA. Then still today the traffic from WA remains at 40% higher than usual. (I am not a betting person but if I were... I'd bet they are all non-owners too ;)
(But not for long....)
Are we having fun yet???
-
Wowee Helene. That is amazing.
DH came home from car club on Wednesday and asked me to write down the name of the forum as 2 members wives have just bought TMXes.
-
Wow helene 40% thats huge and what a place to get info from... Great for thx as usual!
-
Thermomix on Today tonight at 6.30 tonight (Friday) in Tasmania.
-
Mandi,
did you see the real estate guide in this weeks Examiner? The featured house had a TM in their kitchen, I wonder if they are on here?
-
Lol. No I didn't Knittercook. Will have a look though as I still have the real estate guide.
-
(http://img.tapatalk.com/3aa95064-c1be-0016.jpg)
Gee you done well to spot that
-
LOL! I always check out the kitchens in the real estate guide, looking for my dream kitchen ;)
Sharon
-
Me too. But then if my house was being put up for sale I would put the TMX away for the photos as I would hate someone to steal it. :'(
-
My daughter recently sold her house and one couple came through just to see what that super looking kitchen machine was on the counter.
Very funny.

-
I spotted a TMX in the background of MKR tonight. We had recorded it, and were watching and DH paused it for some other reason, and there it was on the bench in the background. They were cooking in B&B kitchens in the Blue Mountains - it was the Tassie team.
-
Yes, I saw that TMX too - how lonely that it waiting there, o far from the action, unappreciated. They could have chopped the leeks wth it and solved their pastry problem if only they'd known.
-
We have a TV show here on the HGTV channel - the show is "Selling L.A." and shows very high-end homes. One of the segments showing off a fantastic kitchen had a TM31 on a counter alongside a Viking stand mixer. They only talked about the built-in appliances (4 ovens, 2 fridges, 2 freezers and 4 fridge drawers plus two warming drawers and 2 dishwashers!) but there was no mention of the small appliances.
-
WOW!! (just wanted everyone to know that was my kitchen . . . .!! . .well, in my dreams at least! ;D) "high end" did you say????? Sounds like a full blown commercial establishment!! . . . sounds like they need a whole row of the little Miracle Machines! ;)
-

It was a 7000 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, screening room, game room, exercise room, two pools (one shallow kiddie pool) plus a jacuzzi, tennis court and 7-car garage on 1 1/2 acres - $8.245million.
A little shack that would work for me! ;D
-
l have seen quite a few tmx in the background of kitchens in the real estate section
l was surprised of how many l had seen
-
Just caught a bit of 'a current affair' - they did a story about feeding families from 1 weekly shop: the "expert" prepared a meal in what was I assume HER kitchen because there was a TMX in the background! She didn't use it, sadly.
-
Quick wa....watch today tonight after this ad break!!!!
-
What did you think CP. I was quite disgusted to be honest. How dare they have an advertorial for the thermothingy, preying on people who want to lose weight. Many of those people can't afford a thermothingy and will maybe buy one so that they can lose weight.
I think it is good to advertise getting back to basics and cooking healthy things.
Did you notice the woman said you can save $55/week and would pay for the thermothingy in 3 months. Maths is obviously not her strong point.
Also Did you notice the name of the dietician?
Off my soap box now. 🔊🔊🔊
-
I missed it, just reading this
now.:(
-
I missed it too, drats!! >:(
-
I agree cookie, I honestly thought that its obvious that HO had contacted the TV station. Too many facts they brought up have been repeatedly brought up before on these stories including a magical figure like that that people can save. I'm sick of the same things they make also, and think why can't they come up with something different for dessert rather than sorbet? They always make this cos it's so quick. Now I think that the tv channel must be getting something to run ths story so close to Xmas and not that long after the last story probably a couple of months go. Yes in my opinion it stinks of being an advertorial.
-
I watched it too, total advertising. Also rhe surname Mazur of the dietician.
Yes I picked up on the maths too ???
Buying a T?m wont mae you loose weight, i think most of us have ganied abit as we can cook whatever we want with ease.
I thought it was bad they preyed on over weight people, people are keen to try anything which they think will work & as cookie says a TM is not a cheap trial for weight loss. Yes you coud loose weight cooking with it but yiu can loose without the TM.
H :(
-
I didn't see the article and by the sounds of it I'm glad I didn't. There's no short cut to loosing weight and cooking with a new appliance that makes it much easier to make sweet treats certainly isn't the short answer.
-
This may explains a few things!

Gert you are indeed a super sleuth. After reading those I feel sicker than I did with the advertorial. >:( >:(
-
Oh yeah. Wait for the cookbook next.
Gert
-
I wondered what the program was going to be like... very interesting to aim the machine at weight loss. Agree with other comments here that you don't need a TMX to eat healthier or to lose weight but have to say I am one of the few here who has lost rather than gained in the 18 months or so I have had my machine .... about 10 kilos :) I do actually put it down to making all my own food now rather than buying stuff and we do only eat one meal a day but still it's been since the TMX that I've felt I've really got control on what we eat.
-
Okay now I didn't see the show because we can't watch it from here :( but I certainly did appreciate the links to the articles and this brought up a question for me...
It said in the article from WABusiness News that "Bianca has also completed studies and work experience in nutrition and dietetics, which has prompted her to produce a Thermomix cookbook based on healthy eating." ... so I am wondering about this book of hers. Is it out yet? Not that I've heard. Hmmm.... I thought Quirky Jo was working on a book for healthy eating. Hmmmm again.... Does that mean there will be two such books? ???
-
A very interesting point Helene.
-
Helene - the 'Gluten Free Wheat Free Cooking' book (available on the Australian website) has a Foreword written by Bianca Mazur. Maybe that's the one she is talking about in the article?
-
in the dec/jan donna hay mag
-
Ha ha I eat double now I have TMX so no weight loss here!,
-
It's hard with all the lovely bread etc we can make. :)
-
Ha ha I eat double now I have TMX so no weight loss here!,
