Hey everyone,
Surely there is a thread on this somewhere? I was privileged to meet Quirky Jo in the flesh and attend her demo at HO on Friday. Great dishes and lots of great tips and ideas exchanged between her and the animated audience. Jo's main course chicken dish with the most delicious coconut, coriander and cashew sauce and with vegetables all done in the Varoma was delish. Jo handed out the recipe for this dish and said her other demo recipes had just been put up on the recipe commmunity.
Jo, could you please post the link to those dishes for us here?
Thanks again.
Miss G.
BTW, Jo's homemade chocolate is TDF! ;D

Good work CP63 :-* :-*
-
Thank YOU guys - you were a great audience!! I loved it, had so much fun, and it was so good to meet you all!! :-* :-* :-* And I've been told they'd like me back - yippeee!! (Can I come back now? It's raining so hard here the septic's full and the toilet won't flush and the sink keeps backing up, and apparently it's going to last all weekend. :( I'm ready for some more of that lovely Perth sunshine!!! lol)
I've been told I don't look like my profile pic, so I'm changing the photo - don't know if that'll help - I look a bit drunk in the new one since I never can keep my eyes open when the camera flashes!!! Oh well. (Btw, I'm not drunk!!)
I've been asked a couple of times to post the links to the recipes from the class, so here they are... they are linked to my blog, but you can also look at them on the recipe community, whichever you prefer. I guess the community is handy because you can print them out with the printer-friendly version - although for some reason part of the salmon salad pizza salad dressing seems to cut off when I print it - does that happen for anyone else??

Wish I could have been there.... :-[
Sounds like you all had a fab time. When you do come back, I'll be there come hell or high water.... whoops! Not a very good analogy given what the ES are going through!!
-
Well if the water gets too high here, I'll just come sooner - lol!
-
Hey Jo like your new avatar. :) Sorry to hear about your water problems.Like MJ, I would have loved being there with you.Oh well back to playing the lottery. :D :D
-
You never know, CC, you've already proved you're lucky! ;) Make sure you come visit once you get here!! ;D
-
Hi guys,
I am so glad you all loved Quirky in Perth but you can't have her. Isn't she brilliant?
I went to a class on Tues night with a friend (she is an owner) and Jo was the most professional and fun consultant there. Don't get me wrong the others were good but Jo was great! My friend quickly ditched her previous consultant which hadn't even booked in her basic demo after owning it for 12mths!!!
We love you Jo!
-
How every State in Australia wishes they had a Quirky Jo ;D ;D Well done Jo, great to hear your trip was highly successful.
CC, you would have plenty of people to visit if you made a trip down under ;)
-
Awww, thanks Virginia & JD! :-* :-*
-
When are you coming to Melbourne Jo????????
Just done the David Wolfe tour Melbourne session & the interest raised amongst the Raw Food enthusiasts was amazing!!
-
JEALOUS Janee! Was it good? Would've loved to have been there! Did you have a Thermomix stall or something?
-
sounds like those who made it had a great time and jo you certainly have a fantastic reputation! so were there photos of the forum members that made it?? Unfortunately a little far away to meet any of you lovely ladies...maybe one day on a trip out to oz! :) :)
-
I was so busy talking that I didn't get any photos! Did anyone else?? We should have had a forum photo!! You can see a couple of people in one of the photos my friend Bron took - they're on my Quirky Cooking facebook page if you want to have a look Frozzie. :)
-
thanks jo will check it out..yes pity there wasnt a forum photo but I imagine being so busy and it all going so well and quickly i imagine it definately wasnt high on the priority list lol...maybe next time :)
-
I wish we'd all worn a red carnation so we could recognise each other! I don't know any forum people in 'real' life other than Jo, but would have loved to have met and yakked. I don't really look like a black dog. ;) ;D ;D
Miss G.

Miss G I was the consultant helping wearing green :D

I remember you! :)

For anyone who may have been sitting around me - I was sitting in the second row, at the very end on the right hand side ;D
-
Puffy, I really wish we'd worn badges! I would love to have met you. I was in the front row in the middle and I asked several questions including were to buy tasteless coconut oil (surprise, surprise!).
Miss G

CP i have no idea why but i thought you were in the UK lol :)
-
On a stinking hot day like today....I can only wish!
-
Why is it that when we go to cooking demos, although we would love to know if there are forum members in the audience, we all keep quiet when really we want to stand up and ask 'who is from the forum' ;D ;D At the last one I attended I was hoping the demonstrators would ask for a show of hands but no such luck. I did go up and introduce myself to Tenina at the end of the night. She knew who I was :-)) :-))
-
maybe next time or even one time there could be a thread on here organising drinks or a dinner before or after a cooking class and a photo or two taken for those so far away :) just a thought!
-
I'm with JaneeZee - I would love it if you came to Melbourne - how is such a thing organised? Through GLs or HO? Now that you are a GL, Quirky Jo, do you just "happen" to mention that there is a lot of interest here and you would (hopefully) be willing to come down and do a presentation? I'm being really presumptuous here in that thinking that you actually would like to head down south.
-
maybe at the demo's if you are a forum member there can be roped off seating at the front so we can all sit together ;D ;D ;D (just jokin'... hmn hmn actually second thoughts its a GREAT idea)
-
Add Adelaide too if you come to Mebourne Quirky Jo! I loved the back to basics cooking class I went to but now wish they weren't all 'back to basics' ones :-\Would also love to meet fellow SA forum members such as JudyDawn :D
-
Well if only my husband would listen to me and take his long service leave that's owing to him, we could travel around Australia!!! I really, really want to do that while the kids are young - we did a lot of travelling in a campervan (overseas) when I was a kid and it was GREAT!! But until then... you guys will just have to come visit up here! ;D
That's a good plan Cream Puff!! I should've gotten all the forum member to stand up!! (Silly me - next time!) :)
-
Thermie crew we will have to have another get together and see if there are any new takers. I noticed whilst in the Central Market the other week though that our coffee shop is being renovated but I daresay it won't be long before it is back in business. Goodness knows where Amanda is going for her coffee fix on her trips into town - it seems to be her favourite meeting place. Hi Amanda :-* :-*
-
I finally got a blog post written about my trip to Perth, so the photos from my class are on there too :)
Check them out here! (http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com/2011/02/thermomix-menu-planning-updates.html)
-
Well done Jo - I too would love to live closer so that your enthusiasm and pure genius might be contagious. Cheers - Robyn ;) :D
-
Ha ha, thanks Robyn! :-*

Miss G you were sitting in front of myself, Very Happy Jan and Cookie1 !!!! Oh so close :( :-)) Next time we will have to be more organised for sure! ;D
-
Ah Miss G, now we know you! 8) 8)
-
Oh I try to remain anonymous! All is lost! ;D ;D
-
Well, you guys will just have to get together again - lucky you! :D
I had a nice thing happen to me today - I was at the shops and a lady who works at the post office stopped me and asked how my trip to Perth was... she'd seen a box addressed to me from head office, and on the outside of it in big letters it said, 'Perth misses Jo!' ha ha!! :D Isn't that lovely??? I haven't got it yet, will have to go in Monday!! How nice to be missed ;D
-

I'll definitely be a new taker in August/September...myself and my little boys are moving 'home' then. DH is off to East Timor for 8 months in August so we're moving home to be closer to friends and family. We had planned to move back to Adelaide at the end of the year anyway.
Jo, it's lovely when people do little things like that for you hey. :)
-
It will be lovely to have you as another South Australian o2k. Just let us know where you are when you get settled.
-
I have been so entertained reading previous posts on this thread - this term has been crazily busy at school so rarely get time for leisure time on the forum. It was so lovely finding out about many of you through replies to this thread. Like most on here. I make assumptions about our almost virtual friends on the forum - bit assumptions can be way off, I too thought that CP lived in the UK. cheers - Robyn :) :D
-
Maybe members should all have what you and I have at the bottom of our comments Johnro - Robyn from Rockhampton Qld and Judy from Adelaide. I love to know where people live.
