Just a quick message to introduce myself: My name is Tim, I am the owner of a very old 3300 which is doing sterling work until such time that I can afford the latest model.
I am really impressed by this clever piece of kit which is enhancing our kitchen and cooking. At the moment we are going through all our kitchen units deciding what we don't need and can sell on ebay so that we can afford a new TM31. So far we have quite a pile of stuff which will on longer be required.
-
Welcome Tim.
In what part of the world do you live?
-
Welcome Tim, glad you are enjoying your TMX. Have you had it long?
I've got my Kenwood mixer stored in the loft but to be honest I'm really desperate to get it back down again. I really like baking in bulk which the TMX just doesn't allow me to do.
I still really, really love it tho' ;D

Hi Tim and welcome to the forum.Good luck on your quest to purchase a new TM31. :)
-
Hi Tim, nice to have another gentleman on the forum. Hope you get to buy the new model pretty soon but the one you have will certainly keep you going until then. Do you do all the cooking at home?
-
Welcome - Let us know your favourites you're making in your 3300. ;)

Welcome to the forum Tim. What sort of things will the 3300 do? I've seen a TM21 but nothing earlier.

I do a lot of cooking at home, everything from making my own pasta through to jams, chutneys cordials etc. Love trying nee things and experimenting. Homemade bread everyday. I am also a Health and safety inspector which means I get to inspect kitchens in education facilities both commercial and student kitchens. I am a self confessed foodie.

Hi Tim, Would love to see a photo of your machine out of curiosity.

At the moment everything is favourite, but creme brulee went down well.

Wow Tim, what a great machine. As I am new to thermo, could you tell me what year this machine would have come from? Helps to prove to DH that Thermomix is a great machine and will last forever..HEHE

Welcome Tim and thanks for showing us the photo. Not sure what I was imagining it wouild look like. I would also like to know roughly what age your machine is.

my mother in law has one like that but its orange and only mixes and heats up the food...a very old thermie..she doesnt use it much anymore though..im not sure those models were available in oz and not actually sure how long the thermomix has been available in oz???
-
The 3300 is from the 1980's and the orange one is the original model from the 1960's - I have clients with those old models still in daily use!
-
it still works fine just my mother in law doesnt use it and actually made me more sure of the brand when i 'discovered' the TM31..thought it was older lol..she raves about it though how great it was even back then...says alot for the brand! On the french vorwerk site they used to have all the models but its no longer there although they do have them in our local thermomix office/kitchen..i noticed last time i went for a class! :)

Hello Tim
SNAP!
Here's my thermomix, I've had it for about 25 years and wouldn't be without it. I too would love a new one but cannot afford it either. One day....

yes I have seen them in Poundland which means they cost more than they did in the 80's when they were 75p per box!

Hello, I have just dipped my toes into the Thermomix world with the purchase of a refurbished TM 3300 on Ebay. It came with a CD of recipes and instructions in French, so I am still in the dark on how to use it.
Can anyone help me out with the real basics and a few simple recipes to start with?
I can only get it to heat when the blade is switched on and everything inside gets blitzed! Is that the way it is supposed to work?
Help!!
-
Welcome Belle!! Hoping the owners of this particular model can help you out. But with the TM31 the blade turns the whole time it is heating - it it the speed dial that controls wether it stirs softly or purees. Love to hear more on your adventure with this machine. ;)

ok the blade will always rotate, the heater only works when the timer is running. this is meant to be like this. UK thermomix sent me instructions at a cost of £7.95, this did not have any recipes just how to use the machine. I am happy to talk you through what I know if you would like to contact me. just let me know.

Hi only under duress, I am a Buzan trainer and generally work by hand or with iMindmap which is a lovely cross platform system which follows the Buzan guidelines.

Cheers. I started using MindManager about 14 years ago and haven't looked around. Thanks, will look at iMindmap

I have been a mindmapper for 20+ years and a teacher. I use mindmaps for everything including writing recipes. I really recommend iMindmap, If you follow this link you can download a trial version: http://www.buzanonline.co.uk/pingpong
Let me know what you think. Tim

Great to hear from you mindmapper1 and your testament to TMs longevity, I too am saving my hard earned pennies for a TM31.
