Title: Lunch Box ideas for school kids
Post by: medusa on February 01, 2011, 02:50:07 am
just need some lunch ideas that I could prepare in tmx for lunch boxes.  Otherwise my poor kids get sandwiches every day.

I did a search but couldn't find anything similiar.

Thanks

I swear I searched.

Just going to sit down with a notebook and read it now!

What about pinwheels using the scone dough - just lay it out in a rectangle, sprinkle with ham, cheese etc. roll up, slice and bake.

I have been buying large roast joints and chickens, slow cooking and shredding the meat in the TM and freezing - you can also add some onion and tomato sauce to make a meat paste to go on sandwiches. I just defrost a little tub every other day.  I am trying to cut down our processed meat consumption so this makes it cheaper and healthier.

YOu could also make sushi, baby quiches/frittatas as well. My kids enjoyed the leftovers from the EDC pasta with tuna recipe cold in their lunchbox!!
