Hi All,
I have had my Thermomix for about 20 months and been on this forum for quite some time just reading and learning from all of you wonderful people. Your recipes have been used extensively.
I live in Northern Vic on an orchard and have been a consultant for about 3 months.
Still don't think I have much to add to the forum but I want to stand up and be counted.
When it comes to computers I "know enough to be dangerous". Did try to post a recipe once. Even took a picture. Don't know where it went. Anyway here I am.

Try again Shriraz. Nothing ventured and all that. Would love to see some of your recipes expecially having an orchard. Just what do you grow there?

Hi Gretchen,
We grow apricots, peaches, pears, plums & apples. Not a big orchard by todays standards but it is enough to keep us busy. When I ask my husband to do something in the garden is reply is "I have 50 acres of garden".

Welcome Shiraz, glad you decided to say 'hi'! I'm sure you've got plenty to contribute!! :)

Welcome to the forum Shiraz, glad you have finally joined us here.
To post a recipe - go to the Home page. Click on mains for example. In the top right hand corner click on New Topic. Post your recipe on the page that comes up and down the bottom click on 'Post' and voila, your recipe has found a new home. Photos are a bit trickier but try getting your recipe posting successful first and you can always add a photo later. The girls on here are very helpful when it comes to computer novices (there are/were many of us) and you only need to ask a question and someone will know the answer. What a lovely orchard you have - we would all be envious of you having so much lovely fruit on tap.

Hi and welcome
-
How wonderful to have all that fruit to play with!
Jusy you have certainly come a long way with your computer skills. Well done. Yup we are a good crowd.

Thanks for the welcome ladies. You are an amazing group of people.

Hi Shiraz and welcome. Your recipe you tried to post is probably with rather a lot of my computer stuff 'up in cyber space somewhere.' Please have another try.
Your orchard sounds wonderful. I've just been down to our local spud shed to get some plums to make jam.
-
Thanks JD will have another go at posting some time soon.
Think you are right Cookie - up in cyberspace is a great explanation. What sort of plums did you get? We have picked some Santa Rosa plus that we use to pollinate the Satsumas (blood plums) but they would not be a good color for jam. It will be mid Fed before the blood plums are ready.
-
I got Santa Rosa. I prefer something like Satsuma but these will do until the blood plums are available. My strawberry jam is nearly all gone, so I thought I'd do some plum.
Does your 49 signify anything special? I think it could be a very good year. ;D ;D ;D

2010 was the special year cookie. I have now crossed over to the dark side. I have been hanging around in the background for quite some time. MIL used to make jam from Santa Rosas for her mother. Color wasn't brilliant but the taste was fine. I'm sure yours will be great. The only good thing about an orchard is you can use as much fruit as you want.

Hi and welcome to the forum Shiraz. :)

Welcome Shiraz!! You'll find all sorts of new uses for that fruit now ;)

Hi and welcome. Glad you decided to join and looking forward to hearing more from you.

Lots of us are on the dark side now Shiraz49. Having lots of fun too. I don't know how I ever found time to go to work everyday.
-
Hi and welcome from me too Shiraz49.......what a great drop! Jenny

:D :D :D And I wonder what I'm doing at work every day :-))

My employer has blocked our access to several "time-wasting" websites while at work (facebook, twittter etc etc)
Thank goodness they haven't found out about this forum yet ;D ;D
I print out heaps of recipes that I find on this forum at work, and often I forget to collect them off the printer, and one of the secretaries brings them into my office for me. She now wants to buy a TMX, just from reading the recipes that I print out, and trying some of the cookies and cream fudge that I brought into work - without ever seeing one in action!!
-
Thank goodness for a kind secretary. Bribe her with TMX food.

Belated Welcome SHiraz49. Good luck with consulting. Great part of the world at this time of year.
